I voted - what a great idea to have this poll! I'm really interested to find out this info when it's completed. Hemingway tries, but he's not talking yet! Valerie

WOW Judy, 5000 and counting! You do such a great job posting on all the threads. You always give the best advice or guide people to where they can find the information they need. It's always enjoyable to read what you have written about a subject, and often I learn something myself! So keep up the good work, and enjoy the next 5000! Valerie

Congratulations Clay and Tank, you're a family now! Isn't it so wonderful to have them home with you to love and look after. They depend on you so much it's like a child. Don't worry, just like children, he'll develope his own personality and independence, so enjoy the dependency while you can! Lots of Luck! Valerie

Lisa, I love Patricia Cornwells Kay Scarpetta series too, I've read them all. I think her last few books aren't as good as the earlier ones, but I like to read them anyway. As for James Patterson, I've only read two and those were Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, and Sam's Letters to Jennifer. I thought they were really terrific! Now, Nicholas Sparks I've read four of his books, and I enjoy the way he writes. I would say the letters books by James Patterson are good reads if you like Nicholas Sparks. Thanks for the tip on The Mermaid Chair, I'm looking forward to reading it! Laurie, I think you might like Sue Monk Kidd too. I think maybe we all have somewhat of the same taste in books! If being addicted to books is bad, I guess I'm in big trouble! Have you read anything by Katrina Kittle? Someone was reading a book by her in the doctors office, and claimed shes a great writer. I'm going to have to look her up. It's so nice to talk book talk with people! Thanks Girls! Valerie

Really FABULOUS photos you two! And Makena is as beautiful as ever! I always really enjoy your pictures, and I guess with the new camera we might even get to see more of them. Best of luck with the new toy! Valerie

Trina, I'm so sorry for you!! We have a friend who has a yellow collar macaw who screams constantly! We had to ask them to quit bringing her over because we didn't want Heminway picking it up, and frankly it drove me nuts! Do you have other birds in your house who might have taught Ying Mo to scream? BMustee gave good advice, I'd give it a try. Best of luck!! Valerie

Hi Harley, it looks like you've already gotten some very good advice. Our CAG, Hemingway who will be 6 months old November 8th, gives us alot of trouble eating veggies. However, if we let him sit on the table when we eat dinner, he will eat whatever we're eating. So, if you don't mind a bird on your table you might give it a try. Valerie

Mosfatal and Vattoe Chico, welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have alot of experience with birds, and a vet student to boot! You'll enjoy this forum, we share information about our birds and help answer questions people have. Everyone is very caring and will make you feel right at home. We like to see pictures, and hear all about you, so don't worry about babbling! Valerie

Nice to have you back Tracy!! My Dad is a tough act to follow, so I'll just say "what he says goes for me too!"  I'm glad you enjoyed the edibles, we had fun with that! Valerie

So sorry for your loss Shim. I think it is show great compassion for birds to want their food to go to others who might need it. I don't know if you have a zoo nearby, but often they take in birds who have been hurt in the wild. Best of Luck to you, Valerie

I agree, Goldie is perfect!!! Lots of luck Connie! Valerie

Siobhan, and best of luck to you and Oisin!! Valerie

Anything we eat, Hemingway wants to try. He can't stand it if we are eating and he's not invited. I think he's tried everything from steak to sausage. I always think he should stay away from chicken because it has to be a cousin or something, but he eats it just the same! Ha Ha! These birds always keep surprising me! Valerie

Laurie, you must be a book nut like me!! I read a book or two a week. I've read a few on your list, Memoirs of a Geisha was fantastic! And I also enjoyed An Innocent Man. I just finished The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, and I plan to read another book by her, The Mermaid Chair. I can't wait! Greg has been giving me ideas for sci-fi, so that'll be my next read. I just haven't decided on a title yet! Valerie

I find myself smiling more now then I did when I was young. I have alot of memories associated with songs, so listening to the radio can usually always bring a smile to my face. The grandchildren give me my greatest joy and laughter...just because! And the thought of snow...I'm smiling now just thinking of it! Valerie

OK Tracy, as promised heres my edibles: This is Romeo and Juliet:) They were made from pears, carrots, dried apricots, raisins, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, fruit pellets, and peanut butter to hold them together. I had alot of fun with these "Mr Potato Head" knock offs!! Valerie

Heather I think the photos are beautiful!! Valerie
