The plant is probably what made the change. How close to the cage is it? You may need to move it to the other end of the room and move it to where you want it slowly over time or remove it all together.

RATS!!! {Emotions-00020077}

{Holidays-00020129} Hahahahaa that a good one.

{Characters-000200D2} CONGRATS!!!! No (human) kids for me so far, but I would like to skip right to the grandparent stage!

A lot of TAGs will have a blue tint to they grey. The year old TAG at my work has a blue tint to the scaloped rims of his belly feathers. It's not a mutation, it's just their coloring. Like Talon said, the grey in your pic is not a TAG...it's a CAG.
-
hahaha! If you all want to come down to FL you can have your pick of the TAGs! I bet you all can't guess which one is the CAG! Give up...in the last pick he is the one up front...second from the left. In the first pic he is the one with his head on the other babies back.

I've been cleaning them sense I was like 4 so it's not big deal for me...and I used to have a 75gl so a 20 is a pease of cake! It's going to look soooooo nice! I'm going to have white sand and natural looking decor in it. I'll be getting the tank tomorrow and I'll post pics as soon as I have it all set up.

I've had FW fish tanks sense I was a kid and I have been without one for about 5 years now. I just moved all the furniture in my room around (Elmo did fine) and I now have room for one. I also moved Elmo away from the window so I would like to give him something new to look at as well. I would like to have a huge tank but I'm just going to set up a 20gl for now. Here is what I'm going to put in it... Panda Cory YoYo Loach And Sunset Wag Platy

I can't tell you how hard it is not having a house full of them but I get to play with them and cuddle them in the comfort of my own home and not spend a dime...so really I'm getting a pretty good deal. Plus even when they are old enough to stay at the store I get to play with them there. The Caique in the second pick is a real ham and thinks he is a whole lot bigger than he really is. Elmo has not wanted ANYTHING to do with the babies sense I had started bringing them home but the other night he got up the curage to come over and check them out. I had all three of the Caiques on my chest and Elmo slowly walked up. He put his face right up to the "picture 2" baby and it snapped at Elmo:woohoo: !!! Well, Elmo just about fell off the bed backwards and didn't know what to think. He's come over to the other baby Caiques and has tried to preen them but thing #2 still goes after him...talk about cute! I'll have to get some better pics of the baby greys. Words can not discribe how cute they are when they are being fed.

The pet store I work at has gotten in a BUNCH of new babies and I have been bringing the real young ones home with me so they can get 4 feedings a day. I had 2 Blue Crown Conures first but they are ready to stay at the store over night now. I started bringing home 3 White bellied Caiques and they are soooo cute. One is about 4 weeks and the other two are around 5 weeks. Well, today I got to bring home BABY GREYS!!!! There are 3 TAGs and 1 CAG...they where just pulled from the nest and are so tiny. The CAG's eyes are just starting to open. Here are some pics for you all to oogle and ahhhh at.

my congo african grey parrot has some bad breath
BMustee replied to steph's topic in The GREY Lounge
danmcq wrote: That is a good point...parrots should not have a "breath" with two exceptions. One is the obvious...if they just ate something. The other that some people might get concerned about it after your parrot "gurges" for you there is a bit of a smell to the breath. I have had so many birds gurg for me it's not even funny...mostly macaws...and the one parrot Sunshine the B&G always had to do it right in my face. The "breath" doesn't last long, but for anyone that smells something bad coming out of their birds mouth stop and think if they have barfed for them in the last hour. -

If the smell has a sharp beer-ish oder to it then it is very likely a yeast infection. Look in the beak...esp. the roof...and see if it looks like there is anything in there that looks kinda like a film or mold. -
That is very good to hear. I bet that after he has settled in and everything has got back to normal he will stop barbering...a lot of cockatoos start and stop with stress. One thing to try if you want some weight on a little faster is give him a nut mix. We carryt a real nice brand at my work in the "bulk bins" made by Higgins call "Boca Nut No Shell". When Elmo fledged he didn't gain back as much weight as I wanted him to so I gave him a little more than you normally would of the nut mix and his weight went right where I wanted it.

{Feel-good-0002006E} Ohhh My!!! That is one foot lovin' grey!
-
OMG!!! Talon went to twon on that laptop!!! Elmo knows he is not allowed near the laptop. If he gets to close I point my finger at him with the stink eye and he says "Don't you do it!". He gets a head scratch for knowing not to come any closer.
-
{Feel-good-0002006E} That is too cute! I loved how your Lored can running for scratches!
-
I was just thinking...if he wasn't eating at the other home then maybe he may just be eating too fast and getting sick? Well, I hope that it's something simple like that...I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Also, the city in which the eggs would arrive is not a port in which animals can be imported to...here is the list of cities in which animals can come into. New York, NY Los Angeles, CA Miami, FL New Orleans, LA Chicago, IL Seattle, WA San Francisco, CA Honolulu, HI Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX Portland, OR Baltimore, MD Boston, MA<br><br>Post edited by: BMustee, at: 2008/06/20 04:56

This is a scam...like it was said as soon as Cameroon was mentioned I knew it. If he really did send eggs they would not make it through customs. ""CITES Species Under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), more than 120 nations are now regulating international trade to prevent the decline of species threatened (listed in Appendix I of Cites) or potentially threatened (listed in Appendix II) with extinction. Trade, which is defined as import, export, or re-export, of a long list of such threatened animal and plant species, is either virtually prohibited (Appendix I species) or restricted (Appendix II or III species). International shipment of these species (and products made from them) requires an import or export permit, or both, issued in advance by the official management authorities of the countries involved. Permits are issued after findings by scientific authorities that the trade won't be detrimental to the survival of the species in question.""" Concidering they are offering Blue throwted macaws...there are only 100 left in the wild...that right there tells you that there is no way they have permits. Plus, permits are issued to Zoos and breeding programs that will re-introduce the animals to the wild or further the bloodlines in captivity.

I'm lactose intolerant myself but I drink the Silk chocolate soy milk but I don't let Elmo drink it...no chocolate for him. I do let him get a sip of my Iced Tea but not all the time and not a lot at a time. I don't think he even drinks any of it though...it seems he likes to just "fling" liquids he gets out of cups.

OMG!!! I can not believe that the vet kicked you out...all you did was state a fact!!! I would make sure the word got out about that. I'm proud of you too because I would be sitting in a cell right now if I was you. :woohoo: :silly: :pinch: Well, it sounds like the vet you went to was pretty good because he gave you aftercare instructions and has you cleaning the cuts. I'll have to get pictures of how we towel the birds at my work...and trust me your Echo would prob. be a peace of cake compaired to some of the birds we get in for trims. If I'm not busy tomorrow I'll get one of the baby birds that doesn't mind the towel to pose for pics!B)

Looking for Avian Vet in the Crystal River FL area
BMustee replied to prrthead's topic in The GREY Lounge
I'm in Fort Myers FL, on the gulf coast. I'm not sure how far you are from me but I take Elmo and my finch questions to Dr McKelvie at the Viscaya Prado Veterinary Hospital. If I'm thinking right your above Tampa...I'm south...but to tell you the truth the BEST vet in FL is Dr. Lightfoot in Tampa. If there is something REALLY wrong with your bird you take it to her. Here is an article about her... http://www.f-v-s.com/about/doctor36.cfm
