  1. Just to let you guys know joe did all this in 15 minutes !! he thought the competion was about to close  Bless you Joe. you did a marvellous job.
  2. Hi Staggy, Is the ring on his leg a closed ring ? by this i mean a complete ring that can only be put on a very young baby, or is it a split ring, you will be able to see if there is a join in the ring where it has been shut together with closing pliers ? If it is a split ring it could have been fitted at any time,if its a closed ring it would be put on at a few weeks old. Baby greys will have dark eyes, that start changing gradually at around 6 months of age. Also many baby greys have a dark tip to their red tail feathers, they loose this during the first molt. Can you load a picture for us ?

  7. Bear in mind anyone considering cages, you get what you pay for ! If you go for a well made cage in the first instance it may save you money in the long run if you have to replace/repair a less cheaper model.I say go for the best you can afford.
  8. Great name for a handsome bird Joe How he doing ?
  9. Thanks Joe, a sticky subject but if you have a rough idea about your birds droppings then hopefully any dramatic change you notice may well be a sign of illness & not necessary down to diet.
  10. Staggy be sure to update us when you have decided.

  17. As our birds poop is linked to their diet i have posted this here in the bird food room. Here is a good link for you guys to read, which gives you some information regarding your birds poo. If you become familiar with what is normal for your bird hopefully you will be able to recognize any significant changes. You will have small changes in their droppings when you feed a different type of food, for example if they have eaten berries, the colour will be slightly darker/brownish etc..Small changes like this are fine. http://www.parrotchronicles.com/septoct2002/droppings.htm

  20. Hi Staggy,as you know these birds are not for everyone. understanding the bird,s vocalization and body language is very important in creating a successful relationship with them .Without the proper care these birds can become nervous and aggressive. They can have a tendency to pluck & some can be really loud screamers. Please do some research to see if a cockatoo is the right bird for you, they need alot of interaction & dont like to be left for long periods.Personally & only in my opinion i would not have a cockatoo. My friend runs a rescue here in the UK & the majority of birds for rehoming are cockatoos.
  21. Talon your a off topic policewoman  I'm so glad you & Talon are sharing these special moment's they are just the best, reminds me of when our children say their first words ! A wonderful feeling.
  22. Thanks for sharing Atlas,i have read your other posts. I do admire people they train their birds for free flying, unfortunately it is not for all of us.I have 3 greys & am on a rescue register, so this just would not be practical for me.My life is dedicated to my birds but as much as i would love to i dont have the time to dedicate to training all three in this manner.
