As the others have said i personally wouldnt risk painting a cage with any paint. Powder coating is the safest way to go, Powder-coated finishes are easier to clean and resist corrosion. This is important because parrots are chewers and certain paints, rust or wrought iron can be very dangerous. A new cage would be the safest option.

Hi deedee, does she have a closed ring ? or a split ring ? a closed ring is fitted when the greys are babies, a split ring can be fitted at any time & will look like it has been pushed closed with a pair of pliers. If it is a closed ring & a UK bird they generally have the year the grey hatched, the breeders initals & PSUK, if this is the case 96 would indicate the year she was born.Some breeders do not fit the colour specified, many fit satinless steel rings.

Hi Judo, i have two greys housed together & one housed in her own cage,all three of mine talk & interact all the time with us humans I'm sure you will be fine, just air on the side of caution when your grey is out, perhaps put a towel on top of the finches cage so he cant get to them.
