  1. 4 a.m. is too early for me but to each his own. I love a good tail wag that is a sure sign of happiness. Dan the body positions I speak of is the slightly lowered body with the wings slightly out and quivering all over, my sun conure does this best, it means come closer and get me I want to be with you, some call it the begging stance. It is so cute that you can't help but get them and love them.
  2. Talon is right, you can get away with the smaller cage to start with, then a larger cage, you can use the smaller cage later as a sleep cage. Sounds like the second breeder is the one to go with, not just for the lower price but he seems to be more knowledgeable and caring of his birds. This is my opinion, but you do what you think is right, whatever that is we are here to help you all we can.
  3. I'm sure if our parrots could physically smile, it would be the cutest thing, I like to think mine are smiling broadly when I come into the room. They do have their body positions and things that show their excitement for my presence. Makes you feel all warm and cozy inside, I just melt.{Love-000200BF}
  4. Flame, there is no flame here anymore, just a little smoke and I hope it stays that way.
  5. I got the same take on this situation, Dan, the wing feathers must be trimmed too severely. I feel your pain too, Verena and I know it is frustrating to watch your baby plummet and hurt itself again. You probably need a shallower cage and you should be able to keep him in it most of the time, my grey is not out of the cage all day. Your little "evil kneivel" has got guts all right. I don't have any other ideas at the moment but someone else here may have a better suggestion. I'm sorry your little one is a little daredevil but maybe all of us can come up with a solution to your problem. Keep us informed, we care about each and every one here in our family. Welcome to the forum and our family, we are here to help any way we can. He's a beauty there in your avatar.
  6. That would definitely have been a Kodak moment. Just keep us updated on how well things are going with Vinnie and we will see if we still would want to get one.
  7. MY lips are sealed.:whistle:
  8. I don't know about that Richardsmommy, it might have too much sugar in it, they can't have much sugar, but its a thought.:unsure:

    Anything with cheese too.:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
  10. She won't, Beccy, I think she realizes that some people are callous idiots that need to be ignored. Penny has raised a fine girl.
  11. I have read that in a book too, but haven't put it to use yet, maybe I should, thanks Dan for the idea. We read these things and then we forget to use them in practice, or at least I do.:blush:

    Biting my feet :D

    Josey will sometimes preen my hair but not when wet, just when she is on my shoulder.
  13. Celery, we may all want to go out and get us a vasa parrot, you make them sound so wonderful to have. You have also given some sound advice here too, we all can use your suggestions for the improvement of our relationship with our birds. Thanks for sharing with us.

    Josey does not seem to like the texture of bananas, as soon as I offer her some she turns away, now if you put some pasta or rice in front of her she will shovel it in.:laugh:
  15. Wouldn't it be nice to spread the rain around so everyone could get what they needed and some places wouldn't get washed away, but that is out of our hands. We have to take what we get or don't get.:unsure:

    Biting my feet :D

    Have you had her go for the strap and only get a pinch of flesh, ouch, now that hurts.
  17. All this just shows Josey has a way to go to build a big vocabulary like the ones who have posted here on this thread. She says some words but not a lot yet, I keep hoping for more.
  18. Thats some sound advice there Geoff, some of those ideas I am going to put to use. You seem to know what you are talking about and that is what we need is good advice.
  19. Tari, we are just silly over our birds, silly in love with our birds. But you got a couple of cuties.

    help

    True a warranty would not replace your bird you have already fallen in love with, I didn't get one but I was lucky and had no problems. I would think most breeders would offer it, just ask when you inquire about the grey.
  21. Hot and humid, I hate it, love highs in the 70s not the 90s. I love snow too, but not the cold of winter. LOL:lol:
  22. I have to take Josey to the sink and give her a bath and she does not like it but she is busy preening herself afterwards. Maybe one day she will accept it.
  23. I too am sorry she had to see that garbage but if she is anything like her mother she will forget about it and move on. I know Penny has raised a girl who realizes that some adults have never grown up and matured and she can see she is way above that even at the tender age of 14. I am sorry Melissa that you had to witness that barrage. May the rest of your life be blessed with the love of your good Mama.{Love-0002011E}

    Opps, sorry Lidia, I must have overlooked that part of your post, but it bears repeating for those who did not know that. Thanks for pointing that out for me, I must have been having a senior moment, I have a lot of those lately it seems.:blush:
