  1. Dan, that sounds just like a man, has a temper tantrum and throws things around if they don't get their way.
  2. Just who are you calling the weaker sex, Joe, thems fighting words, my man, you should know better than that. But even though the sandwich is tasty because you said women are the weaker sex, it lodges in your throat and you die a horrible death because the weaker sex could not do the heimlich maneuver on you to save your life. I wish I had that sandwich also, would be very tasty.
  3. Dan you know better than to criticize me on this forum, and adding another bird to the flock is different from bringing home TWO greys, my man. Besides us women have to stick together thru thick and thin and you are skidding on thin ice at the moment. So you back off for a bit and put your dukes aside, so you want to tango or do the two step? {Emotions-00020060}
  4. No we don't bite, just our birds do, but you better watch out for Dan, he tends to nip now and then.:laugh:

    Just a Bird

    Tari is so right, a lot of people would say, "it's just a bird" how can you spend so much money and time on "just a bird". The same way a lot of people do with their dogs and cats, birds have feelings too and we all are different in our wants and needs. That was a beautiful way to describe how we love our "it's just a bird" parrots and thank you Tari for sharing that with us, it certainly puts it in perspective.
  6. What a wonderful looking family, Joe, and it is so nice to be able to have them all together for a group photo, and I see that there are a couple of chips off the old block too. They seem to share the same sense of humor that you do, Joe, thanks for sharing this with us, you are truly blessed.
  7. I think if you don't mind a little screaming, then a sun conure would fit the bill. My Sunny is a little clown, she loves to sit on my shoulder while I am doing things and hanging down off my shirt trying to get into whatever I am doing. She cuddles some too and also takes a nap with me, she either sits on the pillow beside my head or on my neck. Sun conures are one of the brightest in color of the parrots, with mostly yellow body feathers and orange around the head, with green and blue on the wings and tails. Some talk but mine doesn't, and I don't care about that, she is a wonderful pet and my constant companion.
  8. Well that is a different situation that you did not mention in the first post in this thread, so I guess you don't have a choice but to find a new home. I assumed wrong and I admit that, but I hope you do find a good home for it. Be sure to check out the prospective owners and make sure they know what they are getting into so it will not be rehomed again. That is sad that your dad did not get to enjoy his grey for very long but at least he did have it for a few years. I'm sure it made him very happy.
  9. You do that Joe, we are all anxiously awaiting how much you are going to sucker us for these contraptions.:laugh:
  10. You are a persistant man aren't you Joe. But you are in Japan enjoying the walk on your back by the lightweight women in crazy makeup, and their feet are baby soft smelling of roses and you are so relaxed you don't notice the aliens arrive and laserblast you into a million pieces, but not a hair is harmed on the women, heh, heh, heh. I wish I were one of those Japanese women with the crazy makeup who survived.
  11. Hello Nancy and welcome to the family, glad you could join us and if you have had parrots most of your life then you could probably tell us some stuff that we don't know. I always enjoy when someone joins that has a lot of experience with parrots especially greys for it is another excellent resource to look to for advice. We admit we don't know everything, I know I don't, and the more members the better. Greys tend to hold one foot up when perching to rest that leg but if he is grooming that foot more then I don't know what is going on, maybe the nails are too long and he is trying to trim them himself. Good that he will get into the bath with you, Josey will not do that, but I wouldn't worry about walking up and down your leg, just be grateful he gets into the bath with you. Maybe one of the other members knows what is up with that.
  12. Awwww, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, please accept my condolences on your horrific loss of Chaco. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  13. Hello and welcome to the family, Carol, glad you could join us for we all love our greys. You won't find a better bunch of greyt people who love to share good information, chat with friends and have a little fun in the process. Why don't you tell us a little more about yourself, how many birds do you have, how many are greys, what are their ages, their names and how long have you had a grey? This just helps us to know you better and that helps us in answering any questions you may have. If you have a picture you would like to post, please do so, we love to look at photos and admire each others greys.
  14. Remember patience is key here, you don't want to rush anything, and glad he is getting along with you better.
  15. I know that had to hurt, but no I have never had anything like that happen to me, but I have been scratched by her claws on my face, neck, arms and shoulders. I am always alert for the claw or beak in the eye, but so far I have been lucky. You might put in a call to an ophthalmologist and see if you need to be concerned, I think I would if I were you.
  16. I love that little white one, Tracy, how adorable they are.
  17. Well we love to make friends, and we have a lot of members who would love more friends, even me. Anyone who owns a grey is a friend in our world, so add us to your list. I assume your Sully is bonded with your hubby and not you and there is not much you can do about that, since it is Sully's choice. But you can work at making it better, so you can at least handle him more. We already have a lot of good information here and some of it deals with getting a grey to accept someone more readily. Read thru the threads and you will find a lot of helpful hints. You could be the one to give him treats, scratches when he wants them and talking to him and playing with him to try to get him more accepting of you.
  18. Welcome to the family, Connielu, glad you could join us for some good times and lots of greyt information. We look forward to hearing more about you and your grey. If you have a photo you would like to post we would love to see it, we love to look at pictures here, can't you tell. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask us anything, we will do our best to get you an answer.
  19. Well I guess I am lucky, for Josey will talk in front of us, she will even answer my hubby. But she does not talk in front of anyone else. I know they tend to be closet talkers, but Josey will talk whenever she is in the mood.
  20. Opps, I don't have a passport, but my hubby is going out of the country tomorrow, so while the cat is away, Judy will play.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: But the day doesn't last before the s*** hits the fan and all hell breaks loose and the forum loses the best members they ever had.:ohmy:
  21. Hello and welcome to the family, Bebe, glad you joined even if you have no time right now to tell us anything else about you. I assume you have a grey, that looks like one in your avatar, and that is why you are here. Please come back soon and give us some more information, like your bird's name, age, how long you have had him/her and a little something about you so we can get to know you better.
  22. I wish I had one of those stores near me, we have none here that carry only bird stuff. Just pet stores that carry some bird supplies. You are one of the lucky ones.
  23. How about if I join you in Japan and we both can have the women walk on our backs and massage out all the kinks. But my hubby catches us and shoots us both dead as a doornail.:ohmy: I wish I could swing from a star.
  24. Tracy, aka lovemygreys, gave you some excellent advice and I cannot add any as I have no experience with breeder birds. Now the nails do get very sharp and need to be trimmed from time to time and if you have some of those rough perches like concrete ones that also helps keep the nails filed down. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and your greys.
  25. Very nice hanging playgym, Joe, maybe I need to get one of these for Josey. Thanks for posting photos of some of your work, you do very nice work.
