  1. Sara, I suggest you start taking her on road trips, they don't have to be long ones, just to places she might enjoy to get her used to the cage. Show her that getting into the travel cage does not necessarily mean a visit to the vet or for a trim, but can be somewhere fun.
  2. I agree with the previous two posters, I don't think there is a difference in the intelligence just the looks.
  3. I could go for Captain Jack too Tracy, thanks for adding that.
  4. A bird would be nice, even any kind of bird, you can live with that couldn't you? I have a hummingbird and would like to have a grey but I wouldn't want it as big as Joes and so it would lose a lot of detail that way. Maybe I could go with having her name tattooed on me somewhere.
  5. Josey does not mind being in her travel cage, I guess she knows she is going somewhere with me, since I occasionally take her to work and with me when I visit my son.
  6. I predict that Makena will be just fine, Kristin.
  7. I think Joe had better stick to what he knows, and that is cooking.
  8. Sandra, good luck on your visit with Merlin, I hope all goes well for you, just be yourself and I am sure he will be great with you. I'll be looking forward to getting an update when you get back, I have my fingers crossed.
  9. I have taken Josey for 4+ hour car rides and she does just fine, either plays or sits and talks and makes other vocal sounds.
  10. Hello and welcome to the family, Cindy, glad you could join us, we look forward to hearing stories about Riley. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask, we will do our best to get you an answer. We love to help each other here in any way we can. You said you have owned Riley for over 5 years, did you get him as a baby? He looks adorable from your photo, of course I am prejudiced as I think they are all so cute and loveable. Yes I too am proud of all the armed services and those men and women are doing a fine job and I hope your son comes back home safe and sound from his deployment. We will keep him in our hearts and prayers.
  11. I'll just bet Joe could build a foraging tree, Joe, how about it?
  12. Thats what my grandson says when my sun conure is on his shoulder, "I'm a pirate, har".:laugh:
  13. This is the age where they assert their independence so they will get nippy, but like BMustee stated let her know she is not in control and turn your back on her for a bit. She will eventually get thru this phase but it can be a trying time for you both.
  14. What a wonderful relationship you have with your grey, Zandische, thanks for sharing this with us.
  15. Dave I like your opinion, and you explained it very well for having a separate cage for each grey. I agree with you and I know some of the members won't agree but thats life. Dan I guess he told you, you made your own bed now sleep in it.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
  16. Hannah, when you get your foraging tree would you post a picture of it for us to see, I am curious to know what it would look like. Thanks.
  17. Maybe one of the members who breeds birds can answer your question and I don't think any of them are on at he moment.
  18. There will be no head-butting here. {Emotions-00020076}
  19. Thanks, Kristin, I love it. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  20. I think I thanked you before Kristin, but here goes again, thanks for the list and the links. Joe I am sure you can find some room on your fridge for these important facts.:laugh:
  21. Sure it is ok, and it is young enough that it has not reached the independent stage, the only better age would have been a just weaned baby.
  22. Oh brother, this is gonna be a good one. Maybe I should be three sheets to the wind. Jo ho ho and a bottle of rum. {Communicate-000200D5}
  23. If they see you eating something then they want it too, you know the saying, "monkey see, monkey do" but it is a good way to get them to try a new food.
  24. You haven't stepped on mine, glad you can contribute and ignore the chores from time to time and have a little fun for life is short. And you all know I have no problem with posting, you just try to stop me.
