  1. No I certainly haven't but the bars are kind of thick on the one I got. Maybe your grey thinks he is a cockatoo, they tear up everything.
  2. They are so smart I would imagine they wouldn't have a problem learning to drink from it.
  3. Some allow touching more than others, mine does allow some touching and I am working on her allowing more. Now what she won't allow is for me to put her on her back, she absolutely refuses to do that one.:blink:
  4. Sounds good enough for now but a larger cage later is a wise choice, so for a while it will be ok to use.
  5. Hello and welcome to the family, Zarlock, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your adventures with your grey, Tui. Sounds like you are getting ready for an exciting trip going around visiting other greyt owners and seeing places around the USA. Be sure to keep us updated on the goings on that occur on these trips, we are very interested in what you are doing. We are not like other forum sites, we like to think we stand out in the crowd and we treat all members like our own family, everyone is welcome here and all we ask is you treat us like you would want to be treated, with respect. If you have pictures of Tui, please share some of them with us, we love to look at photos of each other's greys.
  6. You didn't list the dimensions but it looks like it would suffice for now if you are getting a larger cage later when you have the money. You really got a little escape artist there, I guess once they learn how to escape they won't settle for less than total freedom. Keep us informed as to how this cage works out for you.
  7. Hello and welcome to the family, WonderMomma, glad you could join us and finally introduce yourself even though you joined in May. But hey if you have been busy I can understand that, but just glad you are here now. You do have some flock already and now you are going to add a female grey, I know you have made a good decision and we look forward to hearing more about this bird. That was a wonderful introduction and it speaks a lot about what kind of person you are and thats what we would like all new members to do. Looks like your grey chose you and that is wonderful, it happens like that sometimes and the fact that she is so sweet is a bonus. We look forward to seeing a picture of her if you have any, we love to admire each other's greys every chance we get. If we are getting to vote on possible names, I choose Mandisa, that is so sweet sounding.
  8. The Little Rascals characters, I love those names.:laugh:
  9. We take no offense, we know you mean all of us and I do the same thing sometimes. Now if admin doesn't move this thread to the welcome room why don't you make an introduction in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and your grey.
  10. Right back at ya, Benny...... {Feel-good-000200BB}
  11. Wow you just made my day again, thanks Dan, you handsome hunk. {Love-00020119}
  12. Well its no fun being sick, but hey you are off work so it can't be all bad. Here's hoping you make a full recovery. All is well here at 9:05 am, another warm day and then cooler tomorrow but no rain in sight, but we need it badly.
  13. {Feel-good-0002006E} Thanks for the laugh, makes my day.
  14. That is so funny Beccy, but I don't preen my Josey, she does that herself, but I do help my sun conure with hers and she appreciates it, she will stand there and turn her head around so I can get to them for her. That is so nice that he allows you to do that for him.
  15. Thats one idea, my grey's water bowl is on the opposite side of the cage from her food bowl so this is not much of a problem. Another idea is to get one of those water bottles that you hang on the side of the cage and they drink from the end of it, I think one of the is called the Lixit. Of course some owners have trouble with them putting food in it and making it run all the water out. Maybe you could try distracting her when she starts doing this.
  16. Yes Connie you can start to see the pretty colors coming out now, what a lovely baby B&G, thanks again for another fine update, can't wait for the next one.
  17. Aww go ahead Beccy and try it, you never know he might just like it. :laugh: :ohmy: :blink: :lol:
  18. OMG, if my hubby saw that he would shoot it, Joe, he is a dyed in the wool turkey hunter, is working on getting one in every state in the US. All's well here at nearly 10 pm, had another hot day today but the cooler weather is on it's way.:woohoo:
  19. Josey has been sharpening her claws lately and my hands and arms can prove it, she has cement perches but they are still very sharp, maybe I will try a nail file.
  20. Oh its in good shape allright, its in the shape of a pretzel, too bad Joe. I wish I could go to the bird store and hear Irene speak.
  21. Hello and welcome to the family, Jazz, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about Obi, what an unusual name. He/she is a lovely looking grey I must say, but then I am prejudiced to the Cags, congrats on recent addition to the flock. At least you started out small and worked your way up to the larger birds. If you have any specific questions you would like to ask please do so and read thru our many threads on various topics for lots of useful information.
  22. Yeah any time Benny, we would love to have you, the more men the better I always say. If you are up for a good time so am I.:kiss:
  23. You ertainly have, Dan, and I personally love you for that, thanks for making my day. {Love-0002006D}
  24. Hello Magicgrey, if you are afraid of her then she will sense that and react to it, don't show any fear, you will eventually get bitten at some point so don't let her know that. The others have given you some excellent advice, keep us informed as to how it works out for you.
  25. Hello and welcome to the family, Ameen and Sameera, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about Zahzu, your new 8 week old baby. I assume you are handfeeding her as she is still too young to be weaned. We have many threads here on various topics with lots of useful information in them, please read thru them at your leisure, you will find answers to many of your questions. If you have any specific questions you would like to ask, please do so, we will do our best to get you an answer as best we can and help you in any way we can. We love to see pictures especially of the babies, if you have one you would like to share with us, please post it, we think the babies are so adorable.
