  1. Hello Deke and welcome to our family. Gracie is a very pretty Tag and its obvious you have given her just what she needs. Is she the only bird, parrot you have right now or do you have others, if so why not tell us about them and more about Gracie, her past and whatever else will help us to get to know the both of you better.
  2. You are so lucky to have a room you can dedicate to your birds and it looks like a happy place for them to spend some time, any bird would be envious.
  3. Hello Steve and welcome to our family. I know you miss Odie very much and I hope you are able to get her back one day but in the meantime you can welcome another grey into your life as you have a lot of love to offer and yes it will be different as each grey is an individual even though they share common traits. Please keep us informed of your progress and maybe share some pictures if you get any.
  4. Deke, go to the forums page and you will see the welcome room is the first one you will see, click on it and then click on post new thread and have at it, you sound like you know a lot about greys.
  5. I'm guessing by now you know we stress time and patience, its the cure all.
  6. They know the ways of the heart, what a sweetheart.
  7. Makes you wonder sometimes which one of us is the smarter species.
  8. This is the site I have purchased travel cages from, the largest of the two will fill the bill for what you need it for, I have used it for my grey to take on overnight trips: http://www.thecountryroost.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_29&products_id=98
  9. I'm so sorry Winston is missing, I do hope you find him, keep looking.
  10. Hello Pebbles and welcome to our family. Congrats on your new grey and you will learn lots by reading thru the many threads here, firsthand experience is always the best.
  11. Its fine as long as the air vents do not come out directly on your bird, I hate the heat also and have the a/c on in the summer, couldn't live without it.
  12. Way to go Dali, you da man!
  13. Hello Art and welcome to our family. Zydeco is an unusual name but he is a fine looking Tag. Greys tend to be a little cage aggressive, after all it is their safe place, their kingdom and they do not like any intrusions so open his door and allow him to come out on his own, I am betting he will more readily step up when outside the cage and it lets him make the decision to come out and interact with the family. He is new to you so he needs time to settle into his new home and feel comfortable so be very patient with him as he adjusts.
  14. Hello Iffkica and welcome to our family. Congrats on your new addtion of Puki and yes when they spend a lot of time out of the cage sometimes they don't want to go back but the cage is all new to her so it takes some time for her to feel comfortable in it, remember greys take to change slowly so you have to allow them time to adjust. She sounds like a real sweetheart but understand the cuddling may not last as she grows and matures. Also some greys have to be shown how to play with their toys, you can help her to want to play by getting some of them with you on the floor with her and act like you are having a wonderful time with them and it will encourage her to join in, they love to feel a part of everything going on in the household. I assume that is her in your avatar but if you have some more pictures of her you would share with us we would love to see them.
  15. Josey usually only digs when she is in her cage but occasionally she will do it on the playtop, she doesn't do it as often as she used to but it is funny to watch her do it, its just natural grey behavior.
  16. Hello Kalinkacs and welcome to our family. Congrats on your new addition to your flock, I do not think they will stop talking just because they will communicate with one another, they were both talkers before and that should continue. I would love to see some pictures of Larry and Bugger if you have some you would share with us.
  17. What a beautifully colored kingfisher and of course the lovely Cocoa, always a treat to see.
  18. Hello Dave and welcome to our family. You have an adorable baby grey so congrats on your new addition. I would put a perch next to every bowl that is in the cage and one of those boings would make a nice addition to the cage as lots of greys love to sit on them.
  19. Sounds about right but keep an eye on her just the same and hoping the bloodwork comes back clean.

    Pipers wing

It is entirely possible but give it more time and then if you don't see any new feathers coming maybe a vet visit is in order to determine just that.
  21. I am so glad to hear that Cappy is fine after that scary ordeal, another lump in my throat reading the first post but you read that fact about birds for a reason, mysterious ways.
  22. I am using more and more glass containers for frankly they say heating foods in the microwave is not safe in plastic anymore but I do occasionally use the ice cube trays to freeze the food then remove and store in freezer bags then nuke it in glass containers.
  23. I enjoyed that but I must admit that you could see his excitement when Kim spoke to him, she truly does have his heart, sorry Dan but then you already knew that.
  24. Alfie is a slow bloomer but it just shows its never too late for them to talk, he just took his sweet time in doing it.
  25. I agree with Dan, they need enough to keep them busy but enough room between them to manuever around for like Dayo Josey loves to spin around and attack some of them and hang upside down and flap wings, I rotate out all except her big bell, that one stays.
