  1. Hello Doostur and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey. Congrats on bringing home your first grey baby, this will be the start of a lifetime committment that will be rewarding to both of you and since you have had experience with greys you already know a lot about them. There is a ton of information in our many threads as you are finding out so read thru at your leisure and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
  2. Hello Lisa and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Brodie. Since you have only had this 6 year old grey for 2 weeks, that is not enough time for him to feel comfortable in his new home, he needs time to settle in and then he will be more in the mood for playing. I am so glad you could find it in your heart to give this grey a forever home, he needs that stability to know that someone loves him unconditionally. Some greys are closet talkers and you have to leave the room to hear them talk but he may eventually talk around you, you never know. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Brodie you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
  3. I would stay away from the instant oatmeal, most of it has added sugar in it, I just use regular oatmeal and just cook a small bit in the microwave. The baby food I use is carrots, sweet potatoes and butternut squash but you can also use peas, green beans, applesauce and other similar ones.
  4. I usually fix a little oatmeal for her breakfast and mix in a little baby food then put the red palm oil in that and feed with a baby spoon. She eats it off the spoon and I figure it will come in handy if I ever have to give her meds.
  5. I hear ya Bryan, I am so excited but not as half as you must be, how will you sleep tonight, tomorrow is like Christmas with Loki coming home. I can't wait:lol:  B) :silly: :side:
  6. A lot of greys love pine nuts and if yours does then you can use them for treats in training. I give Josey about 1/4 teaspoon red palm oil every day, the palm nut is part of their diet in their natural habitat and helps with their feathers.
  7. I don't know much about breeding greys but people who do breed them say that conditions have to be right and that usually greys that are pets don't breed and vice versa. They do need privacy, like us they don't want an audience when they are doing that. You may have to decide whether you want to make pets out of them or continue to use them for breeding, but I would keep them as breeders and keep one of their babies as a pet. Then by all means read thru as much as you can here on our site, we do have lots of information and we have some members who have extensive knowledge about greys as pets and breeding them.
  8. Thanks so much Amy for the link for bird videos and glad to have you back, you have been absent for a while.
  9. Hello Ryann and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your greys. So are these greys pets also and have they raised baby greys before? This is exciting to hear about for not that many of our members have breeding greys. You probably already know all about greys but we do have a lot of information in our many threads and some funny stories that will keep you entertained for many hours. Please ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Would you like to share some pictures of these greys with us for we would love to see them.
