1. Congrats on your new bird and please share a pic when you can.
2. Yep, she will take care of it, thats for sure, she will either chew it off or pluck it out, either is fine.
3. Well I would like it a lot more if you would include it in your post, have you checked the FAQ section for the one about posting photos, it might help you with that.:side: :silly:

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2008/09/11 18:13
4. Oh boy, here we go again, Dan says male, wonder if his hat predicts that, I told him to throw that hat away, it does him no good. I won't laugh at you Caroline, even if you are right, but you know you aren't. {Feel-good-0002006E}
5. We understand how it is Spence but you check in when you can but I know I have missed you and wondered where you went off to. Chloe will close again, some get their feelings hurt when they don't get their way but your love and attention will bring her around again so keep up the good work. Glad to have you back with us again, now get busy and post and share some pictures if you have any new ones.
6. Yep, just like Suzanne said, it is all normal.
7. Maybe it was love at first sight:) but in any case it is so sweet that he loves you so much.
8. Pat, you didn't tell him any different did ya:laugh: what he doesn't know won't hurt him they say:lol: That is a spendid story about Spike, the cockatiel that thinks he is a grey, a video would have been priceless but thanks for sharing the story with us.
9. Hello Linda and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Phoenix, even your other birds. I also have a sun conure, named Sunny and she was my first parrot and a true delight to have, she is my shoulder ornament, her favorite place to be when I am home. You sound like you have your hands full but it is so rewarding to know you are making a difference in your bird's lives especially the rescues. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Yes we do love pictures here so if you would share some of your flock with us we would be most grateful.
10. So do we and I hated to have to give it up so I emailed them and asked, Josey and Sunny love a little of it too. Thanks for the karma, right back at cha:P B)
11. I remember..... and I have made a few entries in the last week or so, a couple of them I made the first entry and these are people who have been here for a while so come on members and let others know you care about them. B)
12. Heather it seems that every time we have a poll to guess whether a grey is a male or female I pick female so I am sticking with that streak.
13. Recently we had someone post that teflon was used in the bags of microwave popcorn and a lot of us decided we would not use it anymore due to the risk to our greys but I am happy to report that ConAgra Foods microwave popcorn is teflon free, I include the message they sent me: Dear Mrs. Wilhelm, First, thank you for your concern and your communication. ConAgra Foods is committed to providing safe, high-quality products to its customers and consumers, and our microwave popcorn is no exception. There have been inaccurate reports about the type of coating we use on our microwave popcorn bags. ConAgra Foods does not use Teflon, Teflon chemicals or the substance Zonyl in any of its popcorn bags or in packaging of any other products. Our packaging supplier has verified through studies that our microwave popcorn packaging does not transfer Fluorotelomers into our popcorn. I want to assure you that the product is safe to consume and manufacture based on guidance from the Food and Drug Administration and Environmental Protection Agency. Our Consumer Affairs professionals are well prepared to answer any consumer questions. You can contact the Orville Redenbacher Consumer Affairs line for additional information at anytime. The number is 1-800-243-0303. Again, thank you for inquiring about this matter and giving us an opportunity to respond. We value and appreciate your patronage of Orville Redenbacher and our many other family favorite foods. Sincerely, Jenny Consumer Affairs

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2008/09/11 03:02
14. Thanks for the update on Oggie and I am so happy to hear he is talking, some just take a little longer but better late than never:lol:
15. What a great tip Suzanne about using Koolaid, my kids used to drink that stuff and then their mouths and shirts would be stained with it, karma for you;) B)
16. I also don't like the idea of knocking him out to do a wing clip, the vet may be inept at handling birds to want to do that for it is not necessary and what is it with only clipping one wing, in my opinion that would make the bird fly lopsided. Wings should be clipped equally on both sides. :pinch:
17. Hello Stacy and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your quest for a grey. It usually is a good idea to start with a smaller bird first but that is not set in stone, if you do your research and learn as much as you can then it can be a rewarding experience, its all up to you. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so please read thru them at your leisure and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
18. Touching is one thing Carolyn, but when you pet or rub your bird you should avoid the back, tail and under the wings. When a bird gets old enough to have hormones starting to emerge those areas are where the bird is stimulated by their mate and you don't want to be your bird's mate.
19. Lisa, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and your baby grey.
20. Down the back is another area to avoid along with the wings and tail, you don't want your bird to be sexually frustrated:blink:
21. I seem to favor females, so that is my guess, I have a 50 - 50 chance of being right:laugh: one of these days I will be wrong but not today:whistle:
22. Love the pictures so keep em coming:laugh:

25. Julie, you do have quite the challenge but I believe you are up to the task and my how sweet it will be when that day comes that Charlie accepts you. You have certainly saved his life, how stuped can some people be. He is very lucky indeed to have found you and I think he will come around one day, you just have to be very patient and let him come around on his own terms and in his own time.
