Broomer wrote: Thats ok Bryan, we love to hear what Loki is doing and glad to hear she is fitting in nicely in your household, keep the updates coming as she is a sweet little girl and is obviously bringing you and Kim lots of happiness. Good luck on your upcoming surgery, hope it all goes well and do try to get on as much as you can so we can chat sometime.

Goody is your baby grey weaned yet? If not he may be hungry, are you still handfeeding him? Give us a little more information so we may be able to help you. We have a lot of threads in the nursery room so take a look around and maybe one has some info that will be of help to you. Then go to the welcome room and introduce yourself and tell us a little more about you and this grey.

Scooby-Doo is a good looking grey Mark and a great name for him, thanks for sharing him with us. B)
-
I know how you feel as I visited with mine during the weaning process and you just do not want to leave them but he will be with you soon so just hang in there. This visiting will help socialize him also and he is also learning to recognize you and your voice.

Our House Rules!!! (as stipulated by parrots)
judygram replied to Luvparrots's topic in Off-Topic Discussions
Janet, those house rules are excellent, you have summed it up nicely and it gave me a good laugh this morning as well, you are going to fit in here perfectly. Karma for you my dear:lol:  B) -
Congrats Brittany on joining the ranks of grey ownership and I understand about the finances right now but you will get him home soon. In the meantime why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you.
-
I knew she would get a big chunk of it, and who knows she might just play with every one of them. B)
-
No Yvette, you are not the first person this has happened to nor will you be the last, you have a very young grey baby that needs you and you are unsure if what you are doing is the right thing to do, its only natural. But please take care of yourself so you can take proper care of the grey and someone is always on that you can ask questions if you need help. Now go to bed and get some sleep:whistle:

Hello Nora and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new baby grey. October 10 is right around the corner, will be here before you know it even though when you are waiting for something like this it seems to drag by. Will this be your first grey? Do you have any other birds? Doesn't matter but just wanted to get to know you a little better. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We want to see pictures when you get this Tag.

Roscoe looks great, thats a pretty good shot of him flying, thanks for sharing it with us.
-
Congrats on getting another canary, I don't know a lot about them but I look forward to seeing some pictures when you get the one you want.
-
Well congrats Spence on winning 4 G, you really did have some luck, gonna spend it all on Chloe I presume.  :cheer: B)

Like the others have said it is best to let them dry naturally, you don't want to hasten the drying as you want them to benefit from being wet. Glad to hear that ZZero loves the water as a lot of them don't including mine.
-
Erika, if you are only going to be gone for 24 hours why don't you just leave the birds caged for that amount of time. Leave them extra food and water and I think they will be fine. If you were going to be gone for longer then I would suggest you board them. I have never boarded my birds at a pet store or anywhere like that so I wouldn't know whether that is standard practice, maybe some of the other members will share their thoughts and experiences.
-
Yes please spend some more time here with us, checking the forum for lots of ideas and suggestions. We love to make new friends and besides you can have your birds around you when you are here so you can multi-task, looking forward to hearing more from you and of course you can share some more pictures anytime.
-
Congrats on your new grey or should I say new to you grey, since she is 3 years old, but this is wonderful, looking forward to seeing pictures.

Hello Yvette and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this little fella. He looks a bit rough from the picture you provided but from what you have told us of the conditions he was living in no wonder. You have probably saved this little guy's life. We do have a nursery room where you will find threads that should help you with the feeding and care of a very young grey baby and we have several members who are very knowledgeable in these matters. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Try to get us another picture, a clearer one if you can manage it, will give us a better look at him, but it looks like you will need to find an avian vet even if you have to travel a distance. This baby depends on you for its survival and I know you would not want anything to happen to it if you can help it.
