It is a bargain.... I only buy toys and stuff from this shop (Birds for Africa) and if I ever need a bigger cage I will buy it at that other shop that I told you about. Then food and stuff I get from a shop about a block away from me (Petmasters), they are very cheap with food. All the things in the cage that you can see was about R400.

When you come from PTA on the R21 towards JHB int. you get to the Benoni off-ramp well you take that one then make a left turn carry on till the 1st robot make a right go about 1-2km on your right is a big board something to do with birds. I have no clue what is the name of the place. Sorry{Emotions-000200B8}

Hey Karla there is a place here in East Rand that have nice cages and they are cheap. I bought my cage for R1300 from the dealer where i got Max from and then when a got to this place they were R900. I have been to Cape Town, its is awesome. You have to go to Table Mountain, you can go to the Waterfront at Green point. They have some nice fish & chips shops there, to get a taste of SA food. Then Cape Point is also very very nice to see. Then the chapmans peak drive is a must. I you like wine there are some nice wine farms. :lol:

He is on Avi-Plus Formula, the green bag and the blue one let me go check the names. Blue bag - Handrearing - Fine, Green Bag - Parrot - Coarse. I mix the two but now I put in more coarse so he could get use to solids. But he is eating Pellets and seed mix and then some sprout cook up mix. :lol:

Max has been flying alot this week, but today the most amazing thing happened. I was sitting in my office at home on my office chair and he was in the room next door and I heard this flapping noise so I thought that he was just flapping like always. All of a sudden I felt wind and he was sitting on my shoulder the next moment. :laugh: So took him back and he did it about 4 times.... very cool indeed. Then I tried something ells, I sat about 2 meters away from him and clapped with my one hand on my other forearm holding it out for him. Then he flew straight onto my arm and did a perfect landing on my arm, did this about 3 times till he was out of breath.... :blush: I dig my Feather friend MAX.....<br><br>Post edited by: splint101, at: 2007/05/29 15:02

yeah max does the same at feeding time or when we get home from work. But he scratch'es in the cnr of the cage till I open it for him. So yeah I do hope that they grow out of it.....

I ordered mine but should take a while to get to South Africa. :angry: They dont stock that Aviator here in South Africa. It should take 4 weeks to get here. Max is so use to me touching his wings and playing with it, I lift his wings and tickle him under it then he make these weird noise, Guess he is laughing...:woohoo: Can't wait for the Aviator to arrive here..... Will let you guys know as soon as it is here... Cheers for now.

Glad to hear that it worked for you to. :laugh: What you need to do is cut down about every 2nd feed on the baby food and go more veggies and mash it less so the food is more coarse. And try to let him eat it on his own after a couple of these coarse feeds. By then he would be use to the more coarse food & solids. This is wat I am trying now.

Yeah CD you might be right on this the 10hour drive would stress the Grey out more than Boarding him/her. When I got my grey Max I had to take him to work everyday because I had to spoon feed him. At first he did not like being in the transport box, then we took him out and held on to him because we were afraid that he might start flying in the car. He did not like it to be held tight or firmly so I told my fiance to put a towel on her lap and let him just stand on her lap and don't hold him. And yeah he was very good he just stood there and checked out the scenery. But the drive to work is only 1hour 15min. But what I wanted to say is evryday he got more use to being in the car and driving.

That is what I am doing now. I am mixing some mushed up veggies and mix it with the formula. Then I will feed him this formula till it is finnished.
