Breezy2013

The cage is here and Breezy is in it. It is much, much bigger than I was expecting. Just tons of room in there. He can even fly a little in it which wasnt expected and he has been investigating it climbing all over the inside, the platform and the play gym. He seems to really like it I can tell he is happy with it, lots of body language from him indicating that. He is sleeping now, put his cage cover on and he was very comfortable climbing up to his tent and climbing in. There is tons of room inside there to hang toys. Thanks for mentioning those threads about posting photos, Inara, I am going to find those and read them.

Just tracked the packages. It is in vermont already and will be here later today. It is not a huge cage but the top opens into a playgym and platform for him so there is more room than appears. He is only in his cage at night anyways. This is the link if you want to see the cage. I have a dehydrator. Going to start using it to make fruit and veggie treats for the birds and will try those crackers, too.

I think Breezy is just about ready for his adult cage now so I ordered it yesterday. It is a King's cage and I ordered it direct from the manufacturers website so I got a really good deal on it. It is a navy blue powder coat cage, it is big! I will have to get a picture up once I get it set up. Actually, I have a lot of pictures I need to post for you guys but I am having some trouble figuring out how to post pictures here. Will keep working at it, dont worry, I will figure it out eventually.

Lol! I got that look when I first introduced Breezy to his foraging toy. But about two seconds later he was playing with it, he figured that toy out so quick! He really likes it!

You are going to have so much snow! We got an ice storm so lost some of ours. Now everything is like a skating rink outside it's so slippery. Heading to the post office in just a bit to get the parrot pellets and foraging toy I ordered for Breezy. Hope he likes the toy. My macaw has one and she really loves hers.

That is great advice, Inara. I think Breezy is sensing his nervousness. Carl has been giving him a ride from his cage to his playgym frequently and they seem to be getting to be better friends. Breezy's body language toward Carl is very friendly and he seems very interested in him and responsive to him so I think Breezy does really like him. I just asked Carl and he did say he is a little nervous to handle him because of the nipping so I think your theory is the correct one.

1/2 cup raw brown rice 1/2 cup lentils 2 cups water 1/2 tsp Chinese 5 star spice Put your rice and water in a small pan with a close fitting lid. Add your 5 spice. Bring to a boil then turn heat to a very low simmer and cook for fifty minutes. I freeze it in an ice cube tray. One recipe of this will fill an average size ice cube tray. I got twelve little frozen cubes out of the recipe. Just thaw and heat one or two of these depending on how big your bird is. My two really loved this!

That is a great idea! Mine loves almonds so I should freeze an almond in a cup of ice. Now we are getting an ice storm and our truck is stuck in the driveway. Lol! Our weather has been nuts!

This morning the dog was whining to go out and we heard "Be quiet Rudy!" quite a few times. Breezy is getting to be quite the talker.

Got a picture of him all snuggled in for bed in his little tent tonight. Guess he is slowly getting more comfortable with the camera. First time he ever saw it he tried to kill it

He found it! Just got a picture of Breezy in bed in his fleece tent. Now to figure out how to transfer it from the camera to my computer and then into a post here. Give me some time, I will be posting a lot of pictures soon, I hope.

Breezy seemed just a tad dusty today so he got a nice mist bath just now and he is on his stand talking and drying off. I am beginning to think Greys can somehow get into our train of thought because I was just posting on another thread saying he hasnt talked yet today and he is over next to me talking away and making some entertaining little noises. Greys are so funny! He loved his bath just like the other day and the dustiness is gone. Think he is a bit more comfortable as well.

I think it is his rules from now on, Charlie Boy. Breezy seems very accomplished already at ordering us around and he is only four months old. Oddly enough, no talking yet today, just mumbling. So yes, they can be very, very interesting. He is even trying to boss my Blue and Gold Macaw around. She is huge compared to him and it could end badly for him so need to supervise him very closely when Brutus, my Blue and Gold is out and about.

We just put snow in the cup on Breezy's play gym. He is having SO much fun! He is eating it, playing with it, throwing it around and walking in it. Of course my husband managed to lose the digital camera again :-/ Bummer!

So excited! We got some pictures of Breezy finally. Will be attempting to get them onto the forum soon. Just give me a little time. Gave him a slice of banana this morning because I was having one and I gave a slice to Brutus, too. Oh man, was that ever a hit with both of them. They ate quite a bit of it, well Breezy did. Actually, Brutus ate all of hers because she absolutely loves banana. Always has. Also bought some apples and oranges so rather stocked up on fruit for now.

This morning we heard "Get up Carl!' and "pick me up". He is coming out with new things every day.

I am putting a blog up for Breezy on my natural Horsemanship forum. I know, not horse related but my forum so my rules. May just make it visible by me as a log like you suggest. Just to keep track of behaviors.

My dog was just going nuts so my husband went in the livingroom to investigate and we heard a little voice saying "Come on Rudy!" Over and over. Lol! Breezy was tormenting the dog! So funny!

Just caught Breezy snuggling in his little cloth tent with the fleece inside it. What a cute photo that would have been if I would have been able to find the camera. I was wondering how long it would take him to go inside that tent. Apparently he got a little nap in there while I was busy setting up his new blog.

Breezy bathes and splashes in his dish, too. But he doesnt like a big dish of water for a bath. Strange.

Breezy is going to need more baths soon. Noticed the powder down seems to be coming in on his feathers a little. Not too bad but I wonder if that makes him itchy?

He just said "Pick me up!" Wow, he is amazing!

He is out in my livingroom talking now. We heard him say "Hey Breezy" a couple of times.
