Please be aware that we do not have an avian vet amongst our members and any advice given is based on previous personal experience. Answers and Opinions are given here but may not apply to your particular bird/birds's medical problem. If unsure GREYFORUMS.NET urges members to seek advice from a qualified avain veterinary specialist in any such circumstance. Thank you Dave for reminding our members that this is just a "FORUM OF GREY OWNERS" not experts. Our advice is strictly that, advise based on our own experiences and personal opinions and not meant to used in place of a "professional" expert licensed in the avian medical practice. Maybe we should have directory of the recommended avian vets we use, or better yet a google map of some kind. I worry people will call up any old cat and dog vet who will tell tell them they treat birds when really no one on staff really focuses on birds. Is there a good way to even find a directory of board certified avian vets?

Yes,  all vets are not equal in the case of birds! Find an actual avian vet.  My girls go to Dr. Fuller at the Ellensberg Animal Hospital in Ellensberg WA. We drive a ways to see him, but I think it is worth it!
