CeasarsDad
Hi guys. We are leaving for Hawaii tomorrow, Thursday, for 11 days of fun fun and more fun... Since I am bringing my laptop and I have wireless connectivity, I thought it would be cool to blog the entire trip right here and for your enjoyment.. It will be complete with stories and Yes.. PHOTOS.. Lots and lots of photos.. We leave at 1:30 pm on Thursday for a direct flight right to Hawaii. We plan on staying until the following Friday when we fly to Las Vegas for the Memorial Day weekend. Anna, the wife, has front row tickets to the Bon Jovi concert there at the Mandalay Bay Casino. If I can get my pro camera into that concert you will see photos of the boys to die for.. If you are a Bon Jovi fan that is.. If I can't bring it in I will have to use my point and shoot.. No worries, it takes pretty good photos too as you may have seen in the Members Photography Thread.. So, for those of you that have never seen Hawaii.. I am about to take you on a trip.. Stay tuned daily.. See ya all in Paradise.. CeasarsDad.

CeasarsDad
Thank you Judy. I will certainly tell you all about Hawaii and what I think...almost LIVE.. What I plan to do is take all the photos during the day then show you guys at night.. Along with what we are doing and plan to do.. It should be pretty cool to do that. I have never done this sort of thing before so... cross your fingers I don't screw it up..
judygram
You screw things up, aw come on now. Don't spend too much time on getting photos and such back to us that you don't have time to enjoy the sights. By the way I never did find out which island/islands you are going to. B) But I put on 15 lbs since that sprain and well, I may not honor your wish.. But then again, you never know what I might do.. :silly:

Judy, So nice that you are thinking of me and my pleasure. That's why I love you so much.. But really, it would be fun for me to blog this vacation. Why not.. It's not gonna take long to make a post of two.. It will be late at night when this happens and most likely Anna will be sleeping by then.. If I'm passed out then there will be no post..

CeasarsDad
Well, this is the day. "We're leaving... on a jet plane" .... Can you sing that? You remember the song right.. Anyway, my next entry won't be until about 12pm eastern time since I will be about 10 hours in the air starting at 1:30 eastern I got my Valium ready to go as I think... "20 20 24 hours to goooo oo ooo.... I want to be sedated"... Yeah. I'm sure you know that one right.. Can you sing it? B)

judygram
It's too bad that when he gets on at night there it will be middle of the night close to morning here. There is a 6 hour time difference, Hawaii does not do daylight savings time.
Talon
YUP, We'll just have to wait for the morning here, unless these night birds beat us to it.
judygram
I don't have much time in the mornings, I have to get ready for work. It's mostly the evenings I have time to get on the site.

CeasarsDad
Holy cow... What a trip... I am writing this at 4am eastern time.. I have not had any sleep going on 24 hours now. Anna is out cold. Even the Valium I popped hasn't been able to knock me out.. Perhaps I'll up the dose.. So we left the house at around 11:30 am to get to the Airport.. it was pretty smooth. The taxis arrived right on time and we were waiting for him with the bags outside. We made it to the airport just fine and in plenty of time to spare, but Anna caught got me checking the board just to be sure. I thought I was gonna have problems getting my photo gear through TSA but it was my laptop that get me stopped. They took my entire laptop and bag apart.. Looking for.....who knows what? I didn't get a photo of that since I was already in trouble.. I wasn't suppose to photography anything the terminal but you know me.. Here's a couple of photos of our plane.. Hurray... We made it to Hawaii.. Boy I didn't think 10 hours was gonna be as bad has it was. I had kids in front on me and kids in back of me. Like I said.. The Valium didn't work to sedate me to the point where I wouldn't have cared.. I'm praying that getting our bags would be smooth so here is me getting ready to look for our bags. Still happy right? And here is like. 30 minutes later.. I'm still relatively happy but as you can see from this photo.. my blood is beginning to boil.. FINALLY.. the bags come and ALL my bags are there.. Good.. LET START PARTYING.. Hang on.. Not so fast.. Because I left for Hawaii 1 day sooner then the company program I do not have company arranged transportation to the Hotel.. No problem, I'll rent a car.. That can't be that difficult right.. WRONG.. The first place we called was Thrifty.. The lady says they have cars and she is sending a shuttle for me.. GREAT.. No problems so far.. The shuttle arrives quick.. Again.. No problems.. everything is going great.. Then the other shoe falls.. While on the shuttle I find out the only cars they have are 2 seater Chrysler Crossfires.. No way I'm taking that.. I want a jeep... Off the shuttle bus we go Not so easy because we have like 6 bags.. Well, I have one bag and Anna has 5. The driver was kind enough to let us off right by a Alamo car rental.. Perfect.. We can fix all this up ASAP.. WRONG again.. I am battling a long line As you can see from the hands on my cheeks in this photo I was not too happy.. We waited like 45 minutes to get a car.. Boy did I wish I was back in NY at this point.. Finally I got my Jeep and we are off to the check in counter at the Hilton village.. Here's a shot of me at the counter.. Do I have to tell you what happened there too? They didn't have my room the way I wanted it. Which is ONE BED... NOT TWO DOUBLE BEDS.. So we finally made it to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Awesome place so far. I did get this shot of the staircase leading up to one of the villas.. Not Mine. We have a waterfront room in the hotel. We are on the 28th floor so the view is well, spectacular.. I couldn't get that shot for you today because by the time I got into the room it was dark out.. I did get this time lapse shot though.. Anyway.. I'm here.. Tomorrow I'll get you guys lots of pretty shots.. See ya soon.. and thanks for reading.

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/05/18 11:

CeasarsDad
I was hoping to catch the sunrise from my Hotel room but that would be too easy.. So I guess I will have to get up about 4;30 am and drive to the other side of the island to get that.. I can get the sunsets I think. We shall see.. Did I tell you the weather is beautiful yet?
