Christina
Okay, things have been sooo serious and sad recently, I thought it might be a little fun to see what kind of nicknames, if any, we have for our feathered babies. I'll go first: Formal Name: Finnigan Nicknames: Finni Minni, Minni Me, The Finster, The Finninator, Finnigan O'Barrett (last name with an Irish twist haha), Finny, Finny Ginny That is all I can think of for now...thank goodness, she probably doesn't even know her name after that list! haha Oh, I just go the DNA back yesterday, Finni is a girl. Lusya
Since we speak Russian to our baby, her nickname is in Russian. We call her "kurochka", which means a little chicken (not a chick!) She seems to like it!

Post edited by: Lusya, at: 2007/11/30 17:
birdmom
Thats funny Christina! I have Buddi and Charlie, but I call Buddi my Miss Fit (feather plucker) and CHarlie's nickname is my little Nut Job (he calls me a Poop, he says: Joanne, you Poop! Then he says, Charlie the Poo, Charlie the Poo and then he laughs at himself) ... I have O'Boeilan for my Irish twist...does that get me any points on here? LOL Of course my English half would deduct points for that.
Christina
Those are sooo cute Lusya and Birdmom! Because alot of people aren't posting, we must not have a lot that "nickname" their birds. I confess...everyone in my house has quite a few names...most are nice! haha
Toni
I call Alcazar, Alky sometimes and my mom gets mad when I call him that when shes here. She tells me hes not an alcoholic. Shes weird. Or I call him cuddlebug. He loves to cuddle
Cyard
Since we have brought Newton home he only says hello so far so I haven't really given him a set nickname though now I am totally inspired. I think that so far we have called Newton either by his name or Sir Issac and occasionally we call him clutz.
Guest briansmum
brian gets: bri, bribri, big bird, grey boy, brian o'reilly (his full name, when he's naughty), little man, bugger-lugs (which althoug it doesn't particularly sound it, it is affecionate), bat bird, baby boy... um i think thats the most common ones lol. Christina, congrats on your baby girl
MakenasDad
Good thread! "Pet names" are weird, but we definitely have our fair share for Makena. Here we go: Mak, Mac Nut, grey bird with a red tail, chicky, half pint, braticus finch, small fry, monkey, turkey, & bowling bowl after he eats; I honestly think this poor bird may have identity issues...
Laurie
Let's see...sometimes we call Klaus "Klausie" or "Klausie-bear." Then there's baby, baby birdie, precious, "My dahling go-jus poppet!" (saw a grey saying that on YouTube and would LOVE it if Klaus would say that, so I say it all the time to him). Little birdie. Sweety. The list goes on & on! Fun post, thanks for throwing that up there! Karma for you...
Laurie
Oh, yeah! Monkey. You little monkey. (When he makes monkey noises, or climbs around upside down in his cage.) Ducky, when he makes ducky noises.
dblhelix
We usually call Kipusa "Kip", but often use "Kippy", "Kipper", "Kipster" and we call her "Ruby" sometimes too in honor of the pretty tail, and just to confuse her!
HeatherStrella
Mine are pretty boring. I call Harrison "baby girl", "baby birdy", "my little girl", and "pretty girl"...that's about it...
