SRSeedBurners Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I've had this issue with the website for some time now. It renders the forums completely unusable and I'm getting real tired of it. Really need something done about it. Maybe the website admin can contact the tech support for a solution? Some screenshots that may help - This is what I see when the issue starts to creep up And then the website will start acting up. At this point it's getting hard to use This is the part that really irritates me. These shots show the whole screen has gone completely haywire. Nothing can be done at this point until it clears itself up. This can last anywhere from 1-10 minutes. It's even gone 15 minutes before. I'm pretty sure I got a bad bug from the site. All those google warnings must have been right. I was just looking for trouble when I clicked on here... 1
murfchck Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Okay, that was funny! If any of mine where that close to my laptop, I wouldn't have keys left.
Greytness Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 HaHaHa! Nothing worse than a greyed out screen. 1
katana600 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Look, I think Greycie Mae fixed the computer issue! Great job there! Very funny and clever post. Thanks. 1
Ray P Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I can deal with the grey out, it`s the mushy stuff on the key board that gets me.
Brat Birds Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Best messed up screen ever! It is the missing keys that bother me the most.
Talon Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Update: I have notified the tech dept. They seem to have the same problem on their end as well. They are looking into this ongoing problem you seem to have , said thank you for the screen shots, but they are at a loss and told you to buy a new computer....or a new Playstand........????? 1
murfchck Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I can see it now, some poor person is doing a google search for "computer screen issue where screen goes grey" and this pops up! Hahahaha!
bluedawg Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 LOL - I have the same issue with my laptop. First thing I do is pull out the power cord then cover they keys with towel, rag, t-shirt - whatever is at hand. Funniest post ever!
birdhouse Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Oh my goodness, that Grey virus is so-o-o easy to catch & it just doesn't go away!!! Sometimes it also morphs into a multicolored version. That can really cause absolute chaos. Often multiple times a day. Looks like you've got it really bad. Pretty sure there isn't any fixing the problem, no matter what you do. You should just resign yourself to the fact that this has become a permanent thing. ")
SRSeedBurners Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 Yes - you have the exact same problem. Since the site admin won't do anything about this, I have resorted to offering up pistachios. This will relieve symptoms for a short while, however, you will need to vacuum your keyboard.
Acappella Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I keep getting the same annoying pop-up obstructing the screen.
bluedawg Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 LOL - I hear it's a bug that originated somewhere in Africa. Once you've got it you can never get rid of it. It can effect the keyboard, rubber gasket around the screen and the power cord. I have had all those things replaced on my computer since the issue started a few years ago. It's a chronic bug but it's manageable.
SRSeedBurners Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 That pop-up looks like serious business. I don't think pistachios will remove the pop-up. Be careful, I think you're stuck with that for a while.

It's a chronic bug but it's manageable. My wife's laptop has multiple keys missing from this very virus. This is dangerous and serious business people.

Inara Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Loved this!! Both my Kindle and my Tablet have this same issue! It's intermittent, though, and is often preceded by a flapping noise.
katana600 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 My vaccine or prophylactic is to cover the affected area with a towel every time I get up to leave the room. My particular strain of the virus seems to be repelled by towels or any cloth that looks like a towel.
bluedawg Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) It's happening again... Covering keyboard with mere paper is no match for this virus. Having grabbed the "tab" key the virus is now contented. Edited March 18, 2015 by bluedawg
neoow Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Haha... I'd have kittens if Alfie landed on my PC and started pulling bits off. He's banned from the desk! The closest he gets is the back of my chair. What's that you've got in the background- looks like some kind of rope net? It looks amazing!
