CeasarsDad
Yeah.. OK. I want a private plane now.. I know it's something that will take me quite some time to acquire but I want it anyway. You see one of my friends has a Tiger 4 seat plane.. This past weekend he invited me to come with him to Lake George New York for "lunch".. Yeah baby.. I wasn't gonna say no to that invite.. So on went my backpack (camera and lens) and off I went... Here is a picture story of the day.. I have lots of photos I didn't edit yet but I wanted to get these out to you guys... :) This looks complicated to me.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/cockpit1.jpg It was a very maintained plane for sure.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane1.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane2.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/me2.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane3.jpg No.. I wasn't really flying it.. But I did take the controls at times.. It's easy.. at least level flight in sunny weather is.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/me1.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane5.jpg Once up in the air the views were incredible.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/high3.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/high2.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/high1.jpg Here's a look at the runway as we touched down.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/runway1.jpg Once in Lake George I had so many great photographic opportunities.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/sail.jpg I wish I was on this baby. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/steam2.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/lake2.jpg Of course I am gonna find some birds to shoot.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/bird1.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/bird2.jpg Time for lunch.. How about a million dollar view.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/boardwalk1.jpg Well it was time to go.. Gotta get gas. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane4.jpg On the way home we decided to get daring.. Well at least I did.. So my friend slowed down the plane and opened up the canopy so I could get out in the fresh air.. Hey, I'm a photographer.. I take risks for you.. Here some shots of one of the planes we fly with.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane6.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane7.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane8.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane9.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane10.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane11.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane12.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane13.jpg I had LOTS of trouble hanging on to my camera.. It was windy.. Anyway.. That was my Saturday.. I hoped you like the photos and story.. For those interested my Camera is a Nikon D2Xs with 70 to 200 VR lens.. Nice combo.. Thanks so much for sharing these with us, I love them all. I can see the foliage is already starting to change up there, it hasn't here yet but I can hardly wait to get some of those shots. dblhelix
Nice pics Frank! That must have been a blast! I bet in a few more weeks all those trees changing to fall colors would be amazing sight from the air. When I was in college I had a buddy that went on to be a commercial pilot. This guy had his pilot's license before his drivers license..his father was a commercial pilot as well...I went on many a flight with him out of Santa Barbara (where we went to school) as he needed to rack up flight hrs. It sure was expensive but his family paid for it all. He was on some plan where he could go to the airport any time and "rent" a plane etc. Anyways, couple college kids flying around like fools in the VW of the sky...Those 2-4 seater Cesnas are scary, not nearly as nice as the plane you were in! But lemme tell ya, girls dig that stuff!! Oh I have stories...OK off topic. NICE PICTURES!!

nevval
Hey CD Great photos! I bet you had the time of your life!! I can relate to your experience. I worked for a private charter company for a couple of years. They had small jets, Cessna Citations and Hawkers. They sat 8 passengers in oversized leather seats that reclined all the way for sleeping. They had private bathrooms and dripped in luxury. I had the opportunity to fly often in these magnificent jets and there is nothing like it! I do understand why people spend the millions of dollars to own and operate these private jets, there's nothing like it. So go as often as you can and enjoy every second of it!! valerie

DayosMom
CD, thanks for taking us along on your day. I found it fascinating. The pictures are so good. I felt like I was right along with you. Beautiful. I have flying in my bones. I have always wanted to fly an F-16. That is until they came out with the F-22. My Dream..............one day to fly!
