Did the AV tell you to remove the food for a health reason? If not as long as the food dosent go bad I would leave it for his comfort but maybe less in the eve. Does he get pellets as well? The av told me to remove his food bowl after a couple hours; not for any particular health reason. He said he has parrots and always removes the bowl.
