They have a positive effect on your well-being. 9. They greet you when you come home. 10. They make you love them. 11. They are a very important member of the family. 12. They cheer you up when you're feeling down. Can anyone add to this list?

They don't expect a zillion gifts at christmas/birthdays and then play with only the wrapping paper. You already know you can just wrap treats up and they are happy with the paper AND the treat. You don't get disappointed by them not doing their chores. When you teach them something they know it and tell you about it all the time. They improve you ability to watch your language.

They check your washing up as your doing it and anything not washed properly goes back in the sink They make you excercise with all the bending up and down you do picking up their toys when they throw them. They make you laugh with all their antics and conversations they have with themselves.

They make you realize all the noises you don't notice / block out in your home (Microwave beeps, the turbo spooling on your car) They're good at eating the left over veggies the kids don't want!
