NOT A GREY

ya I thought so........ I just really want to let him out more lol! I can hardly wait to take him out to the aviary. but I cant untill he trusts me enough to step up

any tips on getting him to step up? he seems to like me so far....... I dont push him. he comes to me to be petted in his cage. but once the door opens he does his best to avoid me. climbs down and refuses to step up on my hand. he is nice about it....... do you think he just needs more time? it hasnt been very long I guess. I just think he does the bob thing for me and alows petting it would be nice to hold him.

so now I think he needs a real name. big isnt really much of a name....... I think I will keep calling him big boy along with a new name. im thinking of butler

so far so good he allows me to pet him but doesn't fully trust me....... he takes food gently and loves berries

so far I have to say I expected him to be much more fussy! and he hasnt been he has taken and tasted every single food I have offered him. he even ate a pellet.......he has been on seed so I didnt think he would. but I sat here and watched him eat it I let him out of his cage today and he promptly came off the cage and wanted to explore. he doesnt step up........ but when I put my hand out to ask him to he doesnt bite...... he lowers his head like he wants me to pet him. I do and he goes on about ignoring my request lol! I have no intentions of forcing the issue. but day 2 has gone very well. he is very at home upside down also. he hangs like this often lol! looks like the picture is upside down

we just got home meet big boy ..... he is a 17 year old grey

If it all works out and I get him I will have 2 macaws and 2 u2,s and one grey

guess what???!!!! I may have to change my name lol! a gal wants to give me a 17+ year old congo they call him big boy and I am very excited lol!

THE AVIARY CAME FROM http://www.cornerslimited.com/out_aviaries.html wings catolog page 13 has one just about like it for less cash. http://clover.forest.net/kwcages/index.html my macaws just started to tolerate each other being close. they seem to get better month by month. now I need to start working on getting the u2's to get along safely . so far I haven't even introduced them. the aviary has 3 side cages.....so you can lock out up to 3 birds mix and match if some dont get along.

HOW TO PET A MACAW.......... lillians way. first you grab the beak as we all know this is where they can put the hurt on you! then hurry with the second hand to pet while they are distracted....... be sure you are ready to retreat if the beak slips out of your grasp

everyone says that........ way more bird comment lol! but I really dont think they require more then any other bird. they just need a bigger cage and you get more bird to love lol!

this was so eazy! I just printed the form online filled it out............ made myself pluck one feather.......... but those darn thinks dont come out eazy! I found it quite hard to cause my bird pain. so after one I cleaned the cage and waited for new fresh ones to fall. gathered up several put them in a zip lock and sent them off cost was 24 bucks and I just had them mail me the results took less then 2 weeks from start to finish.

so we got the DNA results back and baby is a girl! so now we need to name her on our list is tesla-bailee-lila-vena any others to add or point us to the ones you like best also........... for the dna test I only plucked one chest feather...... and then got about 7 from below her cage everyone tried to say they had to be plucked! I thought if the police can get my DNA from a cup they sure as heck can get DNA from a feather that was stuck in said bird worked great!

PEOPLE ARE HEARTLESS! I hope somehow he is found
