  1. Yes indeed! Kantana600 was posting at the same time as I was this time. I didn't see it until now. You should read her thread about Gilbert. There is a lot of insight in that.
  2. Still waiting on that video of Gracie singing "Jesus Loves Me" Jeff...
  3. Hello and welcome to you and Harry! I'm inexperienced myself so don't have anything to say except it takes a lot of time and patience with a rehome. Others with more experience will come along with useful suggestions I'm sure.
  4. You are coming right along! Be thankful that he isn't attacking your arm when you stick it in the cage. Remember, though that the cage is his safe place. I don't push anything when Timber is inside the cage because I want him to feel safe there.
  5. Baby pics are always so sweet! Thanks for sharing
  6. Curious about this too. I leave mine on for eight hours. Sounds like I need to bump it up to 12
  7. Great news! I am so glad to hear this.
  8. This cage looks like the one I have for Timber. We finally got him in it this weekend I might add! He has been clinging to his old rust bucket, but we were finally successful in making the switch this weekend. Yeah! As Acappella pointed out, you have to be careful that the surrounding area isn't within "beak range" when they are out of the cage. Timber travels all over his, and is always trying to get a bite of the wall coverings, etc, that he can stretch his neck far enough to reach. I have to pull his cage away from the wall when I let him out every day, or he will make short work of my hundred-year-old oak woodwork.
  9. It is so rewarding when you finally hit on a toy/forage item they actually like! Nice going
  10. That's too bad! I really enjoyed that breeder's video I posted months ago on grey's, but it was incomplete because it skipped a bunch.
  11. Happy, happy birthday! Wishing you the most blessed year ever
  12. Hello and welcome! What is his name? We love pics. You are in for the ride of your life
  13. Hello and welcome to you and Pearl! So glad you were able to rescue Pearl. Good luck and God bless
  14. What a beautiful baby! Welcome and thanks for sharing
  15. Loved the video! Jake does remind me of Timber (also a TAG). He has a broad range of "voices" too, male, female, child. I really enjoyed watching that!
  16. LOL Great video! Isn't it funny how certain songs make them seem to "come to life?"
  17. What a great video! Thanks for sharing I've got a very similar cup, I'm going to see what Timber thinks of it!
  18. Thanks for the pics, what a pretty girl! Also glad to hear how well you are getting along. I hope it is a long honeymoon too!
  19. Can't paint her nails either. Bummer! Congrats on the boy though
  20. We found a solution with time, though I don't know if it would work for others. When we get ready to vacuum, Timber would get excited and lunge at the vacuum. We gave him a hard plastic attachment (crevice tool) from a defunct vacuum. Throw that in the cage and he attacks it vigorously, which allows us to proceed with the vacuuming without his interference. After a time, he will be chewing on the attachment and even trying to scratch his neck with it. At any rate, it distracts him from the vacuum!
  21. What fantastic news! I love a happy ending
  22. I think would be great! I'd love to see a day-to-day video like that.
  23. LOL! Emma will probably find you to be a slow learner as most of our grey's do. However, they can be patient when they have to be Isn't it fun though? All those things you CAN understand are so interesting. It never ceases to amaze me how they can use language appropriately. It's hard to say what she wanted when she said "want to take a bath." That would on what she was used to in her previous home. I always say "want to take a bath" when I spray Timber (he always wants to be sprayed). But, he doesn't take a full bath until he is ready. After I spray him, if he goes to his water bowl and starts tossing water over his shoulder, I know it is time to get the pan for him. You will learn by trial and error. Take Emma to the shower and see how she reacts. Who knows if she bathed in shower, in a bowl, or in a pan previously. A lot of it is hit and miss, but you are doing well!
