  1. No problem at all. I'm just thankful you take the time to keep the site alive!
  2. Wow, sounds fantastic! You sure have a lot of potential there, and I'll bet your wife is in second heaven. Good luck and God bless in the new place
  3. Happy birthday Sukei! I'm so glad you were able to get him out of there, and remember all the hoops you had to jump through to get it done.
  4. All good here! Timber had a nail trim Saturday, which you would think was major surgery if you are looking at his reaction. He's recovered and back to normal now.
  5. So sorry to hear this.
  6. I received this from Amazon today. As many of you remember, one of our members started Marden's Ark as a rescue. If you aren't using the Amazon Smile program, it doesn't cost anything and doesn't increase your cost. You just sign up and choose your charity. It doesn't come up to much, but it costs me nothing and I'd rather see it go to Marden's Ark than Amazon! This is the quarterly notification to inform you that AmazonSmile has made a charitable donation to the charity you’ve selected, Marden's Ark Avian Refuge, in the amount of $41.80 as a result of qualifying purchases made by you and other customers who have selected this charity.
  7. Personally, I'd go with a new cage.
  8. Oh my! My vet only charges $15 to $20 for a nail trim.
  9. Is the concrete perch sitting highest in her cage? They tend to sleep on the highest one. Nothing works for Timber as far as nails go. I just have to haul him to the vet and have them clipped when necessary. Good luck!
  10. So nice to see pics of your flock SRSeedBurners! It's been awhile since you posted any.
  11. Yes, sweet potatoes are better for them than white, I give them (cooked and mashed up) to Timber every day. He's picky too, and that's one of the few vegetables he'll actually eat regularly. I understand the picky bird pain, Timber isn't a good eater at the best of times and I've tried everything. He's actually gotten better in the last few years. He ate (yes, actually ate) a piece of raw carrot the other day. That's after years of refusing to even try them. He would still starve rather than eat a pellet. He's also fond of eggs, either boiled or scrambled.
  12. Glad it is over and she is comfortable again!
  13. That's a tough one. I stay with Timber and it doesn't seem to hurt our relationship. I thought the same as you when I took him to the vet the first time, but decided he would prefer I was "there for him" regardless of the circumstances.
  14. Neoow, funny about the "jingle bells." I've got a worse one though. Last year we would put a couple of ice cubes in Timber's water bowl in the morning because he enjoyed playing with them. Until season, when he decided he would pull them out of the bowl and do the "hatch" thing with them. It was funny, but not funny if you know what I mean. No more ice!
  15. Oh my! That reminds me of Timber's love affair with his bell a few years ago. Nothing this year so far. I just left the bell and it passed.
  16. Yes indeed. One corner of my kitchen is now box storage. Timber isn't happy if he doesn't have a box to chew up.
  17. Big difference in 10 grams and 110 grams. Thank heavens!
  18. Oh my! They are just like toddlers aren't they? I've never had a similar experience so have no advice.
  19. Yes, I'd get her to the vet ASAP. That's a lot of weight loss.
  20. So glad to hear you and Alfie are getting back to "normal" and to see you post! Merry Christmas to you and Alfie and a blessed New Year
  21. I've been using this one for years with no problems: https://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-AvianSun-Deluxe-Floor/dp/B006L49LHC/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=avian+light&qid=1607355135&sr=8-4 These are the bulbs I use: https://www.amazon.com/Aviansun-Compact-Fluorescent-Bulb-Pack/dp/B00TNHLTEW/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=avian+light&qid=1607355194&sr=8-10
