I don't think you were judgmental at all.

You both are in my thoughts!

Us too. Her and oliver had to be separated or I would take her in in a heartbeat. She will be hard to rehome but I will try my hardest. She is very smart and just deserves to be loved for who she is. Her name is Mary Ann but since that was a name of her husband's old girlfriend they just called her little girl and yes I do think that she is unstable.

Oh my it was Monday. Hubby got to go with me to play with them and we spent hours there before we knew it. There were just a few to play with and that was Greybee (still no name as the person who has purchased her was to discuss with her kids. She better hurry cuz this bird is talking away and I just called him Greybee the whole time lol) Sugar Ray or RayRay and Lamar. We did visit with Ozzy and Bizzy (Bizzy has a new name from her new parront but I can not recall it) I think all but 2 have been adopted now but there are still babies coming. One blue throat and she thinks there are 3 red front eggs (maybe 4). The baby who was just hatched last time doubled in size but still so tiny. Sorry, with these guys all being into stuff neither of us could get pictures. As far as having multiple birds and how to deal with it, I am not sure how we do it, drink a lot??? LOL I was offered a military macaw last night for 500.00 with cage. I just don't think we can right now, there is no room at the inn. In the heart yes, but not the home. ( she also has a scarlet macaw she wants to sell for 150.00 plust the cage price but not sure what it is) This is Little Girl who was the one housed with Oliver and is just as naked. I am just sick this lady has decided she doesn't want birds after all. The military is less than a year old. sad sad sad.

Hmmm, it was not even close to being balanced but now we have the issue of it being locked until the codes are cleared and also replacing the circuit board. It was acting screwy before we moved it and we moved it to vent more direct as it was cutting off every 5 minutes and it took 3 days to dry one normal load. They are the ge adora and I HATE THEM, wanna find my normal top load Kenmore style again. Lol

Just about all weekend, Lily stayed in the bird room. Her choice because she wouldn't step up to come into the living room, so we just let her come out when she wanted too. Once did come out she would fly again so she went to her room for a time out, rinse and repeat. We were doing a lot of work this weekend and every time we walked by Koko she would ask us what we were doing, it is funny that we would stop and explain it to her, not just say working but exactly what we were doing. I had project driveway, removing old oil stains. (looks like we have a brand new driveway now!) Pat was re-routing the dryer vent and moving the electrical line for the dryer so I could move it. ( he did great, the dryer however did not make the 2 ft move very well, once we plugged it in we got an error code and the dumb machine is frozen. We are going to look at new ones today and he is soooo not happy because it will mean new dryer new vent location, lol) Cotay, Oliver and Bongo go to the Vet Wednesday, grooming time and a check up for Cotay. Cotay has turned into a mess since she has learned to fly some. Her and Gabby are fighting for territory. Gabby thinks her territory is everything but Cotays stand and Cotay will not give up the kitchen table and chairs. Gabby won one yesterday and Cotay ended up on the floor so she went directly to the baseboard and chewed away. Have I mentioned that I can not wait to move to the country so these guys will all have outdoor separate cages? Gus and Koko are doing ok on the same stand for a little while but then one of the will fly off and want to be alone. Gus is also going after Koko's legs, not sure why or what is drawing him to do that but once he gets focused, game over!

Hello, My name is Lisa and I am a bird sniffer... LOL, Bongo smells like a baby powder until you get near his beak, I would swear he eats garlic. (I think it is the peppers though as he doesn't get garlic unless it is in one of the bird recipes.) Gabby and Cotay don't let me that close to get a whiff of them, but I keep trying!!! My Lily and Gus and Koko though just love being sniffed!! The macaws, I can only smell Oliver and with his lack of feathers, I don't smell too much!

Yes, and I can say that I nearly lost my Bongo that way. It was a few years back and I have told this story before but will tell it again so more will be aware. We were standing out front of our house and my niece was over and a neighbor, My niece was holding Bongo as we stood in a circle of sorts talking and a hawk flew right in between us to get Bongo, we were very lucky he didn't get him as it all happened so quickly there would have been nothing I could have done if he had. That was the last time he has been outside without protection. I urge everyone to be very careful when out with their birds when they are not in a carrier. Even in aviaries we have to be careful as our guys like to hang on the sides and a hawk will get what they can and then fly away. A friend of ours lost a few that way. If your guy is spooked and flies downward right now and you can pick him up, your lucky. When he finds his wings and flies up into a tree when spooked, it will be very hard to get him back as they don't fly downward from high places very well unless trained too, instinct tells them to fly higher so please be very careful.

How exciting for the two of you, all the travel and adventures! Welcome, I am glad you found us here! The harnesses are great but they do take time. We have been working for over a year now with trying to get Gabby to wear one, it is now a play toy for her. The closest we got was getting it over her head and then she laid down the law, no way no how this ain't gunna happen! The big boys and girls took right to them though.

Each of mine have different ways of getting in them. They greys will go right in with zero issue, Cotay will walk in no matter where she is, I just open the door and even when she is outside in the aviary higher than I can reach, just hold it up to her and in she goes. My troubler makers are the macaws. I tried the treat trick and ended up having to towel them anyway, but the vet laughed because I could have feed an entire flock with the stuff that I had tried to lure them in with. Cheese, almonds, peanuts, bananas, pecans. The U-2's I am not sure of yet. Koko and Gus and Lily have been in them and I think they went in easy but with them it is easier just to slip them under my shirt for the short walk to the outside aviary. (Pat did the shirt thing yesterday for the first time and I had to laugh, as he was walking out with Lily I told him to watch out for the nip nips, that I at least have a bra on when I do that so I am protected. The look he gave me was priceless and so full of fear! I am so evil sometimes!)

#24 needs an "I Don't know". lol I took the survey but I have three, do I need to take it for each one or will I negate the one I have already taken?
-
Who drinks it, me or her? Hahaha
-
Not so crazy, I do have 3 flying cockatoos and now 3 flying greys ( Cotay is just starting to test her wings) and they are all out at the same time. Sometimes I ask myself why though, lol When they do their startled flight and all six are flying around I never know which way to run to get out of their way!!
-
Lily just needs to learn anything right now, lol. She is a mess in feathers.
-
Gus and Koko sitting on an arm K I S S I N G First comes love... Heehee, they like each other. That was their first time near each other and separating them was tricky. After Lily's attack we thought he would be a bit more timid but nope, she groomed him and he groomed her and I had to sweep the floor when they were done. We thought we did a good job with the feather upkeep but nothing like they did for each other. lol She even got to clean his crown feathers where his booboo from Lily is still healing. Lily on the other hand hated this and showed it and voiced it!
-
No sorry, eight birds total. 2 of them are macaws. lol
-
Lol. As much as I would love to take one home with me, I already have 8 and 2 of them are blue and gold macaws, I am just a socializer so to speak so they are used to other people and help teach them how to play. No new pictures cuz they were flying around too much, lol. But I gotta say they are all beautiful and sweet!
-
Glad you are back and feeling better. I love the tattoo, very well done!

Oh my goodness are the babies growing up! Only two were left in the nursery. The baby grey and Sugar Ray. One brand new on that hatched Friday night too that just won my heart. I am learning so much being there. Ozzy was out when I got there, flying around the house and I had to laugh because he puts my Gabby to shame with the amount of stuff he gets into, he got in her office and started destroying a fake tree, then we heard a little crash while she was feeding the baby and went out into the kitchen to find he had knocked over the formula and walked through it leaving feet prints all over. lol He had to go outside and she brought in another, I can not for the life of me remember his name, it starts with a L though. He was super sweet, got on my shoulder after a bit and just happily played there with my hair and shirt. Then there was Busy, she was outside in the flight and is also a cutie pie. I would find it so hard to pick from if I was faced with that decision. The grey baby though, I would take home in a heartbeat. She stayed with me and even took her first full flight while I was there, and oh what a talker, since she is already sold she doesn't have a name but I called her Cathy, as in Chatty Cathy. She already says hello, I was shocked at that. I helped with the feeding and watering of the other birds and she has a system down pat, I guess you would have to with that many birds but she knows what each of them like to eat and what they don't like so each bowl is carefully made to match their wants. lol The baby that hatched Friday, she had to take to a wedding with her ( her daughters wedding) so she could feed it, she is so committed to these birds it puts a lump in my throat and makes me want to be a better parront! We are on vacation next week and Pat is going to join me out there to see why I hate missing my Mondays out there!

Amazingly, Lily did really well yesterday. Only off her stand a few times but she was outside and then had a full blown bath. Once she dried the jumping started but only twice. She was much calmer all day, even before she went outside so maybe she has passed the peak of season a little. hahaha, we will see.lol
-
Both Bongo and Cotay are/were water poopers but I figured out it was only because of the perch over it. I hung a toy near there for them both and now the poop misses the waters! And thank you, every since I read this thread, I have "poop, on the water" playing over and over in my head! lol
-
She is 100% in season, good times... She was butt rubbing everything last night, and doesn't take no for an answer either. My knee, Pats elbow, hip and arm, gesh. I can not wait for this to be over and get my sweet cute loving Lily back, not the Cujo she has become. This is sad, I lined up water bottles on the floor and aimed them at her stand in hopes she wouldn't fly off. There was this half circle of a water army aimed at her and she just flew right over them, then she would turn around and tell them hello. This girl isn't afraid of anything, I remember with Gus I could lean a broom up against something and he would freeze on his stand, Lily I think would just hump it! Yeah for the weekend, they can spend some time outside!

Things are back to normal again. Pat got a truck on Wednesday, he was so funny too. He told the people that he had to have a truck because he was tired of renting a load and go every other weekend to haul cages. lol What was worse my Jeep pooped out on us when we got there, so we both ended up with new vehicles. Poor birds were in their cages again all day Wednesday, we went straight from work and didn't get home until 10pm. So to make up for the two days they were in their cages they got out yesterday and were spoiled with each of them getting their favorites for/with their dinner. Some got corn on the cobb some got pasta, some snap peas and some even got the beloved cheddar cheese. Bongo of course got a little of everything, lol. Cotay was a busy girl though, she decided she did not like the texture on our wall near her stand so she removed it for us, about 5" around and she was so proud. Out of no where now she lets me pick her up and even sat on my shoulder yesterday. I feared for my faces life but she did okay with it. She also flew a bit, from her stand to the table and then over to Koko's stand (which Koko was on). Good thing was Koko just looked at her as if to say, are you crazy? But then Koko just looked at us with the ok, you can get her off any time now please. Funny how you can just see in their eyes what they are thinking. Lily is still jumping off her stand too, I tried to wear her out, playing and running around in the room while I cleaned all the cages yesterday, then sprayed her down as suggested. heehee, I think she flew more than normal trying to dry herself off. She is also getting nippy with us, maybe she really is in season full force, who knows with her anymore. I know her and Koko are fighting for domination, if we are holding one, the other just screams. Poor Guster, if we hold him they both freak out and want him for their self! There is no holding two of them when in the same room, that is just asking for trouble. Pat was holding Koko and Gus decided he should be with them too and flew right on over and landed on Pats other arm. lol That was fun. Bubba will be going back to the vet soon, his 'roid is back and pretty big in my book. If it would just stay out though so I can get him to Dr Moore to remove it would be so much better. Otherwise he will have to have surgery and be knocked out. Gee who haven't I mentioned and updated... Gabby and Oliver... Gabby is Gabby, everything is hers and no bird shall be near it or a fight will ensue. Oliver, he is my boy and loves me to death too but only has eyes for Bubba. Bongo, he is just my sweetheart and does no wrong, ever! lol.

Well didn't get to try it last night. We got the babies out and Pat got a call about his car that he posted for sale and ended up selling it so by the time we got the last bird out from their cage, we had to put them right back up and got home just in time to start dinner. lol Poor kids were so confused. Tonight will be the same. but hopefully we will be home sooner. Somehow Pat sells his car and I end up carless and riding my bike to work. hmmm? It did the kids okay though to spend a day in their cage for a change, just in case they should ever have to, I know they will survive it. It was more good for me than them, just to prove to me they would be okay.

Lily is really killing me! lol This not staying put thing is really driving me nuts. And she now has decided that Pat isn't good enough to hang out with. I had her on the counter yesterday as I prepped some potatoes to bake. He came home and I had to hold her ( and the potatoes because Gabby enjoys leaving her marks in them if left unattended ) until she settled down, but then she started biting Pat so she had to go back in time out. Time out isn't working, harnessing her isn't solving anything (she now bites when Pat tries to harness her anyway) and by late afternoon, I can't put her outside because of the heat and neighbors with her screaming.
