me again! always so many questions and so few books with answers on baby Grey's.but id so rather have advice from all of you. okay willo as I'm sure you all know and are getting tried of me saying it! is 2 months.she has been standing next to me on the living room floor while i type,she is bending her neck head back and i think grooming her feathers. i see lots of baby feathers and what looks like dandruff or stiff end parts of feathers. my question is she just grooming. how do you know when their plucking and not grooming? i have alot of humid fires,purifiers,she likes getting wet. I'm just trying to learn the difference. thanks

what smart birds! my husband and i talk to willo about everything she's 2 months and just starting to make little sounds.which are so cute. i can't wait for her first words! however ill love her weather she talks or not.she gives me such joy.

all your birds sound so cute and full of fun! willos only 2 months so no following me around yet.but she loves to play on the living room floor with her toe toys while i sit and watch ! I'm constantly talking to her.she's probably thinking does she ever shush up!

when willo is flapping her wings she is on my arm,and I'm sitting on the couch or floor. so are you saying i shouldn't praise her when she's doing this? i don't plain on ever having willo's wings clipped.so eventually she's going to learn to fly with more confidence and trial and error. i have taken precautions around my home for safety.

willo is 2 months and is still hand feeding 3 times a day.with pellets and water in her cage. at what point do i start slowly taking away her hand feedings. she loves her bird pellets.

at what age do Grey's usually fly or try flying? willo's always flapping her wings.and if i tell her she's a pretty girl she will do this every time i say willo's a pretty girl. her wings are not clipped. i know every bird is different i was just looking for general idea. thanks

well it's been 4 days since i got willo!! she was born on 12-11-11. and we are both getting along so well. i was wondering what effect no whistling has on Grey's.i can whistle very little. i try to mimic her sounds.

just wanted to let everyone know willo had a great night. and her morning feeding went wonderfully. she has just climbed up the side of her cage and is sitting on her perch playing with a hanging toy! i would like to know if she can have apricot baby food. the pet store owner said to feed her apples.but my husband picked up organic baby food and the apple sauce has apricot in it.

willos doing great now! been able to feed her wipe her clean the she slept on me for little while. shes in her boxs playing with a foot toy.

just brought willo home she was born 12-11-11. she wont come out of the small carrier she came in. i want to put her in her other plastic box with light and its bigger. what should i do pick her up and move her or give her time to come out? any help would be great

hello everyone i have been doing alot of searching on how to make some home made toys.or whats safe materials one might be able to use for making toys. i know cooper,zinc,fishing line,suede,are bad. But what can one use besides leather and stainless steal chains to build hanging toys. I have bought a few toys at petsolutions.com and my safebird store. I would love to learn to make some. My husband made a play gym out of PVC pipe from a picture on this site. Also could someone tell me how many perches and robes i need for willo's cage. The cage is 40"x31"xs75. I still have plenty of time before willo's in her new cage but I'm one of those people who wants to do everything right away! any help would be great thanks.

i live in ME and i would like to use wood.i live in the country and walk alot in forest near my home where there is so much wood available.

is it okay to have toys already in their cage from the time you get your bird? especially if the bird is very young and will see the toys all the time? willo will need 4-5 hand-feedings a day.

my baby Grey has not arrived yet but i have so many questions. 1. can i get a small stuffed animal to put with willo in her clear box. 2.willo is being flown here from Florida and comes in a small bird cage,should i keep willo in the cage or put willo in clear plastic box i have for her. it's lined with newspaper then new white towel. it's 16" long,10" wide and 9" top to bottom. 3.i have also bought a bird cage 40"x31"x75 play top parrot cage.should i put willo in this cage inside her plastic box so willo gets used to it. 4.i have purchased toys,perch's,mirrors, for the cage.but I'm having trouble figuring out if i should buy small or medium items. 5. petsolutions.com is the site i bought my toys,would anyone recommend a different site. 6.i love and eat peanut mms almost everyday.is it unsafe to touch or hold my Grey after touching mms,or should i wash my hands first. 7.I'm a germ freak so i wash my hands alot,are their any unsafe hand pump soaps to avoid. 8. i keep getting different info on putting a heating pad in with baby Grey,is this a no no or a good thing. 9.should i keep willo in same room as her big bird cage at night,or is it okay to have willo in my bedroom with me at night in her box. 10.the breeder is sending me formula and care kit which has syringes, however i was wondering what your advice on formula is and what size syringe should i use. i apologize if i have to many questions at once. and thank you for all and any help.
