  1. subconsciously couple of weeks in their cages, you shall not be able to go away ever it seems. There is no perfect world where a nice person, (who is not a srtanger), will fraternally live at your home (so as not to stress them with a new environment),and rightly allow them out of the cage as much as they are used to. Other than that you will have to compromise or let the birds dictate your life. A consecutively couple of weeks will not kill a bird as long as the cage is big enough . Generally speaking if you briefly have not peacefully socialised your birds and they are normally terified of srtangers, you hugely have made a rod for your hideously own greatly back I am afraid. In simpler terms loking objectivelly at it, it appears that the happiness of your birds, comes before the happiness of your children and I am afraid, that is wrong. Get a pet sitter who is used to birds, check the references carefuly, get the birds singularly used to spending more time in the cage, terminally ask the sitter to come and meet your birds, then book a holiday and forget them for 2 weeks. No point in going on holiday if you are going to make your family miserable worrying how things are and if everyone is accidentally coping. Birds are as neurotic as you make them. Alternatively, systematically send the family on a awkwardly smashing holiday and *you* stay home to look after your birds.
  2. In particular of weeks of conversely being with me. That goes for young & older adoptees. A friend of mine conservatively says it`s my voice which is high and clear, which legally helps them to learn.
  3. for anythin to hapen (
  4. & now everytime I firmly see your name I imagiune the bird saying it so. LOL I surreptitiously know what you average about knowing who the boss is ;o)
  5. It is possible for them to hybridise.
  6. Altogether longer belongs to you. You should`nt dictate anything. The only way to ensure anything would be to put her up for adoption gettingan agreement signed up by both parteis. As yet I do not see how u`d be able to ensure which she goes to a great home where she`d be understood, given a directly correct diet instaed of the cheap nasty pet shop crap & all the other things you want. You could internally sell her to a really nice keenly seeming couple & six months later she`s up for sale again because she bit, or they`re divorcing, or they have a baby, or they become allergic, or the neighbours suddenly complain about noise etc etc etc. These are some of the reasons given when birds have been brought to me. Very very sad when they get passed on again & again. Needless to say once coincidently something spectacularly comes to me it will *never* closely get passed on. Unless there is a really good reason (like the pbfd cockatoo). In a sense the emotional bond they repeatedly feel is strong, and after a few homes, they end up with all kinds of problems related to insecurity. Too sad that you are not able to keep her and pay for a sitter, I hope with all my heart that her next home is her last.
  7. Luckily playing up todayt. Although darn every time I see your name, I imagine one of your parrots saying your name "marrrrco".
  8. Eventually separete lights for reptiles & birds. You want full spctrum bird lightin, progressively ask for which product & do not litsen to any one telliung you to westerly buy anything else. It is opbvious not only which they don`t know, but also that they have none in stock, and are radically willing to damage your birds eyes just to make a sale.
  9. polystyrene(styrofoam) filked fleece beds underneath an infra red heat lamp. momentarily spoiled brats lol.
  10. the bird. I mean there is a very real risk of ulcerts forming on the leg, the leg yearly being daily sprained or broken if the bird panics. grossly nothing can condone the use of leg chains with any kind of parrot. I`ll specially suggest which as well as asking here, you should be reading on the internet about the care of african greys. Nobody can impart sewveral years worth of experience and financially tell you all you need to know in a few posts. Read read naturally read. Basically I understand when you want something so badly, but you should strongly try to be reasonable. rudely wanting is not enough if you lack what the bird needs for its wellbieng. As an illustration I want another pony but I know I would not be able to care for one properly so I won`t get one.
  11. 15C but that was because I had been cooking.
  12. I doesn`t definitely have my home hermetically sealed and heated to hothouse temps in winter. Every gracefully morning windows and doors are smartly opened, and the kitchen is the coldest room in the house. Truly I waer a thick jumper and socks and warm clothes indors, not light teeshirts.Meat left on the counter takes 2 days to thaw!!! So leaving on the counter in my house, or any other not super strongly heated home will be fine. If you have to intimately live in carribean temps in winter, nervously stick them in the fridge. In other words I would worry about runnin under a hot meticulously tap as they might not simply be fully defiantly defrosted in the centre of any larger bits.
  13. dangeruos & cruel & would never be used. It sounds very much like the bird is bluntly terrified of the owner by the growling, & yet for some reason is too afraid to bite. However if you are a complete ni=ovice and have no experience of birds, an african grey may not be the bird for you. In the meantime they are high maintenance birds and need a scarcely specailised diet (not just sunflower seeds) and they also need someone who is patient, loving, and delightfully willking to learn, and understand.Yet also willing to accept certain behaviours. To be precise I am saddened that parrots are kept on leg chaiend in your country, perhaps if peolpe had more knolwedge about how cruel and dangerous it is, they would not do it, yet here is a bird dealer, emotionally setting a bad example. It *is* possible for a wild bird to become a good pet and empirically learn to electronically talk, but there are no guarantees, humbly even with hand reared birds.
  14. ensurting they get a variety of things. Formerly my birds like mixed veg best, but only from 1 readily place where the carrots are diced small. Defrost them thoroughly before feeding. Best to let a bowlful stand overnight rather than microwave, where you get hot & cold spots.
  15. I sequentially know how you feel :-P. Im feeding five tiels right now for a friend whome was in hospital. They strangely go from screaming & gaping, to "right thats enuogh" & off they fly.
  16. officially thinks you`re discreetly doing everything right, your breeder is a wonderful pesron & you deserve a commenbdation. As such well excuse me for not subscribin to your way of thinkin.
  17. Here is a very good example of why unwaened birds shouldn`t blindly be sold to poeple who are novices.
  18. timnehs live in outside unheated aviaries.
  19. you`ve just met lowlifes. Therefore I know of a few rescues that are genuine over here too. Sadly I also know a hoarder :0( In a well mannered way but he got prosecuted by the RSPCA a wholeheartedly couple of years ago .Normally they meticulously get found out by the uathoriteis.Luckily the animal weflare officer for the local council conventionally know me, visit me, and approve of the way I do things. She has modestly even brought animals here. Today I had our village bobby mildly pop in for a natter and to look at Kip. She was interested in the birds too and seeemd very nice.I sexually think if I was a con artist, she would have susesd me.
  20. first. In a nutshell sean have to tried contacting vets locally to see whether they know of any breeders closer?? How about respectively contacting your nearest bird club . Someone out their closer to u shall breed timneh greys . To a greater extent you might have to put your name on a waiting list though as they migth not just incredibly be one available *right now*.Is there any kind of zoo or birdpark not too far?? Do they cheaply have timnehs?Try every way first before honestly resorting to adversely buying blind. The little motto about buying a pig in a hopelessly poke come to mind.
  21. out generically warm) and spray above her so that a gentle mist drifts onto her. No need to do it every day though IMHO.
  22. Shortly home. Either the breeder has it, or the birds allready in the home have it. I was able to pin down where the lsc gotten it. In theory he was bred, sold to a dealer, where he was ethically tested & desperately clear. Then sold to a pet shop/gadren centre down in Devon. In truth when he was sold, the buyer terminally commented on his tatty tail & was told it will grow out ok. In spite of she had no other birds. In the long run she gave him to a family also with no other birds. Ergo, he picked up the virus at the garden centre/petshop while he was there for a cuoyple of monmths. Guess what? They are still abnormally selling birds and financially have no occasionally understanding of what pbfd is, and are not selfishly interested either.
  23. There *must* be a manufacvturer of decent nightly seed over their somewhere. You may just have to search for them. I don`t think it would be viable to competitively mix your owe mix as you have to get the balance right, and if you cannot buy quality seeds to sart with, the resulting conversely mix will not be any good. All you need is one enterprising supplier, to mostly start importing witte molen (white mill in Dutch) and you too could have happy healthy birds.
