Thanks for the advice Greywing.

You people are SO helpful. I wrote up all the books you guys wrote up (or at least, if you mentioned both the author AND title of the book), and I'm definitely gonna read all... six... teen... good thing I like reading Anyway, thank you all!!
-
Oh god. I can't help but write: 'what an impatient idiot'! I'm sorry. Not for her, but for the Grey. Greys are known to need time with new things. (Or at least most of them.) And after having an African Grey for 25 years, wouldn't she know that? I feel like crying. This really, really saddens me.
-
What do you prefer? A sleep cage or not? (And exactly how pricy are they, and how big should one be?)
-
Is stainless steel worth it? Lets look over the reasons...
DinoUndies replied to kingsnake's topic in Cages & Homes
Stainless steel contains chromium? Is it bad for Greys? Now I'm worried ._. -
Wait. In the first page there's a list of vegetables and one of fruits. Are these all the safe fruits and veggies?
-
Thank you so much for the list!!
-
I'm thinking of, if I didn't make any mash, simply giving them fresh fruits and veggies. That would be accompanied by pellets, of course. If I give them the mash, however, should there also be pellets in the cage? Hopefully he doesn't take too much of a liking to the pellets in that case >w<
-
Omg!! I'm so sorry for you D: I'll definitely look up the air filters as well, but since when the bird is caged all the doors and windows will be open I don't think I'll need one? ._. I'm so sorry for you, this is the worst thing that can happen when owning a bird D:
-
This is a question for everybody who is willing to answer. What do you feed your birds, how much and when? I'm thinking of giving my grey pellets in the morning, until I come back home, and then switching it for a mash if I made any. I don't know how much of each I'd have to give him, though xP Sound good? :3 Thanks in advance for all the answers, I bet it'll be helpful for a lot of beginners like me >w<

Thank you very much, Dave. I'll make sure not to use any Non-Stick Cookware.
-
Okay, thank you!! You people here on Grey Forums are so helpful. Well, as long as she loves me very much, like you said, I really don't care who her #1 is

We're not acrually moving, it's just one trip back to where I am. And it's because I'm gonna most probably buy her in the vacation, because I can't find anyone here who sells Timnehs. After that the only actual concern is the construction. I'll be leaving this home and household in four years, and even after living alone I'd still have concerns abotu bonding, leaving her alone, blah blah blah. The only huge concerns that I thought could or would affect her where the plane ride and the construction. After the construction it's all peace and quiet ^^
-
I know that they can switch bonds. I read an article - by Jane Hallander, I think - about the differences between Congo African Greys and Timneh African Greys, where she also talked about switching bonds. Apparently according to a survey Timnehs seemed to not do it at all, and this might not be a fact, but it still shows the chances of a Timneh switching bonds. In fact, it also talked about a few Timnehs that also added other people into their group of #1's, which would be even greater if you ask me. But anyway, I am not by ANY means, trying to isolate her. She will be in not the busiest part of the house, but one of the busiest, and she will be able to see the people sitting in the living room. (We actually kind of have two living rooms... she's in one of those.) The only thing I'm saying is that I'm her Primary Caregiver, as in, I will rotate her toys, give her fresh food and water, and yes, I WILL train her, but that doesn't mean that I'm not gonna let her interact with any others. Don't get me wrong, all the others WILL want her on their shoulders, on their hands, even giving her a light scratch if she allows it, all I was saying was that I would do most of the working and cleaning and training ._. When I walk around and she's free, I'll keep her in eyesight, meaning she WILL often be in places where the others walk around. I WILL introduce the others to her and tell her/him their names. I was just wondering if there was a higher probability she'd bond with me, since I'm her Primary Caregiver ._. I AM gonna go to the pet shop or breeder with the WHOLE family, to make sure I choose the one that chooses me and not one of the others, but that's only because I'm selfish (And because the others don't, believe me, want a bird around them 24/7.)
-
I work about half of the day. I leave home at seven and usually arrive back home at 2:30, sometimes a bit later and sometimes a bit sooner.
-
All in all, if he chooses me, he won't end up choosing somebody else because I'm home less often than them, right? Or at least, THAT wouldn't affect our bond, right?

Wow. Thanks for the comment, guys!! Dave: Those are the only metals non-toxic to the African Greys? If so, how and when are they toxic to them? (Only when chewed or whatever, or when heated, or what?) Thank you very much Judygram: Thank you very much. I'll definitely check if the plant in my house is in there
-
Just wondering, what metals are toxic for Timneh African Grey Parrots? Also, we only have one plant in the house, but better safe than sorry. Which plants are toxic for Timnehs? Thank you in advance and please check the Teflon Cookware sticky for another question I asked ^^
-
Cute!! =D I understand why you fell in love >w<
-
Thanks, Dave ^^ You know so much about African Greys ._.
-
I have a question. At what age do Timnehs obtain the light brown-ish color on their upper mandible? Thanks in advance for the answers.

Introduction of me and my future TAG :P
DinoUndies replied to DinoUndies's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Thank you for the comment, JD. I will definitely put some pictures up here once I get him/her. I also decided to call him/her Taylor instead. Not only because it's a unisex name - in case he/she hasn't been DNA-sexxed - but I also really like the name, and the guitarist in my favorite band is called Taylor xP -
Okay, thank you, judy. I guess since it won't take THAT long to make the pool I shouldn't be that scared either >w< Thank you all for the advice !! I'll use it when the time comes
-
Thank you very much, judygram, reassurancw, and youp thank you for the advice, too, mucpnch. You people are great help. I was mostly scared, too, that he'd get all settled up in the house and then again end up in a new house and be all anxious. But I guess it'll just take him some time to settle down there as well and then all will be good ^^
-
Okay. Thank you sooooo much for your advice. I will take it all and use it ^^ I'll post a pic and tell you all everything about my new TAG once I get her or him =D I'm so excited. For some reason, I'm so sure that in the future I'll have a loving companion Timneh. Do you have anything to say about the plane ride?? :3 All advice is very, VERRY, welcome :3
