  1. I too had this cage for a while and have nothing but good things to say about it. I had no problems with it at all, and it did not degrade the whole time I had it. Easy to clean and take apart/put together. I actually kind of miss it...
  2. I like the second one as well. I actually had that one, and sold it, and came to regret it. If I had to buy another cage around that size, that would def be the one I would get. <--- As you can see from my pic, there it is...
  3. Very glad to hear that Xandir is home. It's always heart wrenching to hear these stories, and I felt especially bad for you being that he is so young, AND you are local to me. Glad that he is back with his momma!
  4. We have 2 female CAGS, and the younger one wants to play with the other so bad, but the older one will not have any of it. The older of the two wants nothing to do with her... ever. I too was hoping they would get along, but do keep in mind that this might not be the case.
  5. We also have 2 CAGS that we adopted from Craigslist. Both have turned out greyt. Annie has social issues, and only takes to me, but she is coming around to the Mrs slowly, and I do expect them to get along in time. Lucy is a very hyper CAG. She gets along with everyone, even the kids, and loves to play rough. She never punctures the skin by any means, but loves play time. She loves when I toss her off of my hand/arm to fly. I count to 3 and then toss her, and she now takes off before I even toss her on the 3 count. Yes it takes time, yes it take patience, but in the end, we gave both of them a great home, and they are very much a part of the family.
  6. The Lixit bottle that I have does not drip at all. This is the one I have. http://www.amazon.com/Lixit-Glass-Water-Bottle-GB16S/dp/B0006B7FMO/ref=pd_sim_petsupplies_3
  7. One of our Fids has the bottle, and the other a bowl. I def love the bottle as well. Will be getting another for the other bird soon.

    Bigger cage?

Great to hear that you and Anton are making progress. I love that cage by the way. I have it for Annie, and it has been absolutely great! I want another cage just like it for Lucy.
  9. Our newly adopted (about a month ago) Grey Lucy is being introduced to new fruits and veggies since adopting her. At first, I thought it coincidence, but have since found out that if she doesn't like something after trying it, she will nod her head left to right really quickly to say no. It happens every time we offer something that she doesn't want or like. She is good at trying new things, but after that, it's a head nod to show that she doesn't want it. Very comedic to watch.
  10. I used to have a 135 gallon reef tank. I had purchased all of my live rock from a company that aqua-cultured it out of the Gulf of Mexico. Pricey, but it was really nice rock. I do miss the hobby, but at the time I was REALLY busy and I decided that I had to give it up for now. Maybe one day it will be again.... lol
  11. Here is the link to one. It is pricey, but can be found at other places a bit less expensive. I have found that the HQ Corner Cages pull out in the front. You can see by the pic the 2 trays that pull straight out. HQ Corner Cage
  12. Here is the one we bought a few months ago for quick tasks, and it works great. Can go from a standard upright to a handheld quickly. Eureka Quick Up 2 in 1 Vacuum
  13. Agreed. I might have to look for another as well!
  14. Very nice! Thanks for the pics. We actually drove 150 miles each way to get this yesterday. We got a REALLY good deal on it. We only paid $200 for it (plus the $65 in gas). We put it together and it truly is huge. I'm glad we decided to get it though. Thank you for your input, and thank you for posting the pics. This is truly a great cage. I noticed you have another cage in the background. Do you have another bird? Our other cage is similar to your other cage, but we have 2 Greys. Maybe we need another corner cage. lol
  15. Have any pics that show the whole cage and your Grey in it? I just want to get an idea of how much room there is. Thanks.
  16. Netty, I know this is an older thread, but did you get that corner cage? I ask because I was recently asked if I wanted to purchase that same HQ corner cage for a very low price, and I am debating on getting it. If you did get it, how do you like it? Thanks.
  17. Whenever our Pomeranian Sampson barks (he isn't yappy, just barks when the kids are playing with him, or when someone is at the door) my CAG Annie tells him to "Knock it off" followed by "Be Quiet"! Whenever someone calls Sampson's name, or whistles for him, Annie also starts to bark like him. My wife's CAG (which we just rescued a few days ago) knows some very colorful language we have come to find out. Her previous owner seemed to tell her to shut up followed by some nasty words. I was floored when I heard this, but still think it was worth saving her from the man she lived with.
  18. I attempted to use the Search function on the forum, but alas, it doesn't seem to work. With that said, I know the potential problems with burning candles in a home with birds. Now my question is, does the same go for the Scentsy type stuff? They are wick-less, and smell because the pot warms the scent, so would it be toxic for our feathered friends. Please excuse me if this has been covered somewhere, but I couldn't seem to find it skimming page by page. Thanks.
  19. Excerpt from ParrotAlert.com: I received an e-mail from a lady in search for a cage for her newly found African Grey , she was looking to purchase a cage. This lady has it contained in a cat carrier at home while she is at work. I offered her a free cage if she would allow us to find the owner. I will meet the lady when she picks up the cage at 5:30 pm in Vancouver Wa. I hope to follow her home to get a full description and photos of this African Grey. I will update this post with more information as soon as I can. Christopher Driggins N.W. 21. So you must live in the area? Camas, Washougal, Vancouver? I live out in Beaverton, but work up at the PDX airport. Nice to know you're close.
  22. Agreed. I too have been attempting to use the "Search In Forum" feature and have gotten no where with it. Something is surely busted.

    Bird Seed Shells

Thanks for the tips. She likes her food, she just doesn't always eat it all since she has the other food dish with fresh foods. I also asked because I saw this product, and although it seems like a super idea, I was thinking that if the food gets "recycled", then the empty hulls go in as well. Bird Feeder
  24. Every morning as I change out the seed dish in Annie's cage, I notice that a lot of the seed is still intact as she doesn't eat it all since she eats some other foods. That seems like a lot of waste. Besides going through it by "hand" and removing the shells, is there a faster, easier way of doing this? Has anyone invented something to do this? Just figured I'd ask in case such a thing exists.
