  1. How do your parrots react to your dogs? Im looking at getting an african gray but im a little concerned that when someone knocks on the door and we are not in the dog goes mad and barks, im worried it will scare the parrot. What do you all do about this? Will the parrot get used to the dog barking? The dog is really good with all our animals so i know the dog will not be borthered or bother the parrot but im worried about the barking. Thanks Clare
  2. I have found a space in the living room for him/her, think this will be best as when we are out at work he/she can watch TV or listen to the radio

  7. Thanks for that, does anyone have a cage thet they are completely happy with? Im going to measure the gap where im thinking of putting the cage tonight but it is a large space so im sure ill be ok
  8. I take it that it is not possible to get a cage that is too big? I want to get the biggest cage I can as im at work between 8-4/5 and even though my partner could let him/her out i dont know if he can do this everyday.

  11. Thanks - parrot care is where i first saw the cage, they are doing a deal at the moment but im not ready yet so will have to see. Maybe going to look at parrot care next week to see if a gray is the bird for me

  13. Hello, is this cage ok for an African Gray to live in its whole life? African grey/Amazon cage Haiti Length 66cm Width 55cm Height 156cm Bar spacing 22mm I will add toys and things just wondering if the size is right? Does anyone have this cage or can anyone recomend a better one from experience? Thanks Clare
  14. Thank you both for this, I have looked at afew sites but they all offer so many different things I didnt know what was best. Wether to buy dried fruit and bits seperate so they can have more of these or buy it all mixed. OH so many options LOL

    Hi I could do with a little help, im just looking at and pricing seed and wondered :- Does anyone know of a good website that sells a good mix of seed? Which seeds do you have in your mixes? (There seem to be so many) Clare

  17. Hi We can get tuna in spring water, Asda and Tesco sell it I always buy it as i dont like it in oil or that really smelly brine

  20. HI I have not got a gray yet but as i was making my dinner today (tuna pasta) I wondered if grays can have tuna or fish? I know they would be ok with the pasta and sweetcorn but just wondered about the tuna. Just thought it would be nice in the future to make meals we could all have Thanks Clare
  21. My question is - Is there a different in temperment or behaviour between the Congo African Grey Parrot and the Timneh African Grey Parrot apart from the red feathers and different coloured beak. (Just from pics i have seen) And does one suit being a first parrot owner better? Thanks Clare
  22. Hi I havent got my gray yet, im 26 prob 27 when I get him/her, My partner has a 10 year old daughter and im hoping to have children in the future so hopefully there will be a safe secure family for my bird when I pass away.
  23. The reptiles live in a purpose built garage in the garden and when i get an african gray it will be living in the house, they will never see eachother and we use strict hygiene routines already.
