  1. Does sound like a guilty conscience at work, hmmm - lol. Clever birds always up to something keeping us on our toes.
  2. Who knows may have been a breeder. Just dizzying thinking of all those birds waiting for homes and most likely not real handleable.
  3. Yay!!! Hope you have a lovely reunion.
  4. How funny Milo the girl, welcome to our world!
  5. You might want to place his perches down lower and pad the bottom of his cage as well while he is healing so he lessons the chance of bumping that chest while it heals.
  6. Wow that was fast! You are in the honeymoon period right now while he is learning what he can get away with and all about his new home. Build that trust right now and it will pay off later but watch the electric cords so he doesn't fry himself and make certain you are not cooking in nonstick cookware now you have a bird in your home. It sounds like Chili will be a good fit in your home. Appreciate the photo too.
  7. Greywings

    Hey!

    Happy birthday to YOU!
  8. Dried fruits also concentrate the sugars and our Greys so not need extra sugars or salts. Fresh is best with out question.
  9. One of the sweet moments they share with us. Pookie and foster Camaroon Congo just before bedtime hope this photo loads.
  10. Knowing that the beak grinding crunchy sound means your bird is relaxed and content may help it sound better to your ears. For me that is a comforting sound-all is right in their world.
  11. Our little grey brains need the back story on this please.
  12. Can't wait to hear how he settles in and how you all adjust.
  13. Our Umbie male has been in a few homes prior to here and he is a toot. He goes into nija mode and goes after selected people and other birds dangerous behavior. Good for me, daughter and youngest son but he is the most likely to bite hard of all our birds and needs the most careful watching. I can have the Elanora and all three Greys out of cage at the same time with minimal negative interactions. Umbie boy flies to target, eats well and is very affectionate but is the best escape artist and the most destructive as well. I love him too but he is a challenge sometimes. So in our home the Greys are easier. Each bird of each species is unique.
  14. I have herd the Palm make a lovely bell like call how would you describe it? Beautiful birds I love the Too's but Greys are easier to share your home with.
  15. Impressed! Wow it must have been quite the viewing, good work!
  16. Nice Too's you have your Citron looks like a Citron to me what makes you think it is a cross? We live with two Too's also one Umbie and one E2.
  17. I like the one corner cage we have and so do the birds. They seem to play musical chairs with the cages and that one is the most popular. The bad feature is that it is harder to paper the floor of the cage -just a bit awkward. It is an older cage and opens on top as well as having two big front doors. It was Pookie's (CAG) cage but Fred (Too) has taken it and some times Gunner the Timor is in it a bed time for birdies.
  18. That is trust you have a wonderful relationship.
  19. I agree Mitered Conure is the last one, Not an Alexandrine they have a large red colored beak and a pink ring around the back 3/4 of the neck, perhaps a Blue Crowned Conure and the large one with the horn colored bill confuses me. Both the Mitered and the Blue Crowned are excellent birds not as loud as some of the Conures and larger than Suns or Nandays. Maybe a Cherry Headed Conure?
  20. You might try playing some upbeat music to give him something else to think about when your hubby is due home, or make this time his spray bath time as a wet bird is often quiet until dry. Bird is feeling out where to fit in to your family, my hubby has some hearing loss (this happened before the birds) and our Cockatoo's always seem to scream when he comes home, it is something he has great trouble tolerating. Cockatoo flock calls can put a Grey sound of any kind into background noise, my dear hubby loves me enough to go to another room until the birds quiet down rather than asking me to not have them. Love makes adjustments to keep each other happy and if Grey has to be the adjustment you make do it sooner rather than later. If you and hubby are willing to work on extinguishing the sound it can be done by not reacting, they love attention enough to motivate them into making sounds you will respond to. An alternative would be to move the bird to another room away from hubby when hubby needs some quiet (sleep cage) done in a positive way not as a punishment.
  21. Glad to hear he is adjusting to the collar, no fun for him but it shouldn't last long. Here is to rapid healing.
  22. Happy happy hoppy hoppy and Yay for you!
  23. How wonderful that you were able to be a safe stop on his journey to health and home. So glad you were able to talk with your neighbors and know they ere not out to get you or Phoebe, landlord over reacted. Nice to see you back here again.
