{Love-0002011D}Whats the sweetest thing your fids ever said to you? The sweetest thing Casper says to me at the moment is "Hello doodles, i love you" it totally melts me

-
Wow! never heard of that before, it makes me laugh just to think about it.

Cas and Nel love fresh pineapple and strawberrys chopped up in the same bowl, like you say they drink the juice first and then eat the flesh.

Hi Patrick, You have picked the best forum ever. Everybody on here are great people, very friendly and helpfull. Your birds sound gorgeous, looking forward to seeing some pictures of them. I have got two african greys who both love pomegranite to. And as Judy says, they make a right old mess with it. I will post some photo's of them next time they have one Anyway welcome to this wonderful forum Julie

Hi everybody. Could anybody tell me what approximate tempreture greys should be kept in? It's getting really cold now so i put the heating on to keep them warm, but im worried in case i get them to warm. And if i don't have the heating on for a while, im worried they may be to cold. Thanks Julie

I had swine flu in september and my cags are fine. Although i stayed away from them as much as i could. I got my son Marc to see to them most of the time. We just got to keep our fingers crossed

Hi Dave, would it be called aloe vera juice here in the uk do you know? I have read so much about it on the forum and would love to try it Thanks Julie

My two year old Casper started whimpering like a puppy and drooping his wings not long ago, but he has stopped doing it now. I thought he was getting frisky at first, but i found out he was to young so i don't know why he done it. Both my cags regurgitate and try to feed me with it yuk! I think their just tfying to tell me they love me. I would'nt worry to much about her trying to get out. When mine were babies they did the same, but settled down after a while.

No your not paranoid at all. I am exactly the same as you. I use to use my microwave to prepare some of their food, but i don't anymore. I do their scrambled egg in a non stick metal pan now, or they have boiled ones. I cook their veg in an old fashioned steamer. It may take a little longer and be a bit more messy, but the benefits outweigh tne risks. The only cleaning fluid i use near them is cage disinfectant, its more expensive, but worth it. I think it's better to be safe than sorry.

I wouid really love to see them. lol

Now he's started there will be no stopping him. lol

When i was small my dad always wanted a cag and a monkey, he was facinated by cags which rubbed off on me. Unfortunatley he never got to own one or a monkey, as money was tight. The facination with cags always stayed with me. They are beautiful intelligent birds, they make the best companions ever, even though they don't all talk, which didn't really bother me, they just seem to understand everything. Anyway, in 2007 i had some money left over from the sale of my house so i knew what i had to do. I was very lucky as the breeder had been let down by the person who Casper was supposed to be going to. I ended up with my dream bird who not only talks, he never shuts up. I also got Nelson a year later, he is still in the learning process. I am happy and so are my boys. I could never imagine my life without them now.

adore the pictures.lol

I don't have problems with the tops of doors yet, but they do go in places their not allowed. Like on the top of book cases, curtain rails etc. so i stick little cuddly toys everywhere, they hate the sight of them and it serves it's purpose for now.

When i got my second cag Nelson, he was 12 weeks old and was already bigger than Casper who was one at the time. The vet and the breeder said it is normal he is just a naturally big bird. He is huge now and looks enormous at the side of casper. I realy don'tthink you have got anythg to worry about
-
I have just looked at the parrot diaper links, and it's gave me a giggling fit, they look so cool. I think they are a great idea, but i don't think my two boys would let me anywhere near them with one. They won't even let me go near them with their harness. lol
-
wow! you had me worried then to. lol. Thanks for telling me about this thread it's brilliant. The kissing thing makes me smile, when i tell cass and nel it's bedtime (which casper hates) nel always asks for night night kiss, then he will put his beak on my lips or cheek and make kissing noises. It's so sweet and my heart melts. I know im a big softie!
