What great pictures! You must be so excited!

Hi all- I got a GREAT price on a used bird cage from my local pet store today! It's in great condition and it's huge- the only problem is it is missing the bottom wire grate. The bird can't get out of the bottom or anything, I'm just worried about the health risks of it walking around on the bottom of the cage. I'm going to try to call HQ and see if they sell replacement grates, but if I can't find one, is it ok to keep my bird in this cage if I keep it super clean? Or should I post it on Craig's and look for another cage?

Does anyone use rope perches in their bird's cage? I've read that they're comfortable for birds to sleep on, but I've also heard of birds getting their toenails stuck. Are they safe?

I e-mailed my breeder and she had gotten the pics mixed up, so she retook pictures of my bird and sent them to me, just now! So here is my CAG...not to be confused with the TAG I posted earlier....

Yeah, I just e-mailed her...I checked my invoice and it definately said "Congo", she probably just sent the wrong pics. Do you think maybe my breeder sent me pics of the wrong bird? I thought maybe since it was so young it would look a little darker...but now that I compare the pics..yes the beak is definately different...well, I'm getting a CAG...and seems my breeder sent me pics of the wrong bird...sorry guys! Does anyone have experience with buying a bird from an out of state breeder? Though I am positive I've chosen a great breeder, since I found them on a web site my family is concerned. Does anyone have any tips on how to verify that this is legit, without offending my breeder, so I can ease my family's concerns?

I'll be picking up my CAG in about 6 weeks, and I've been wondering about cage placement. My two senegal parrots are in my living room (in separate cages) where they'll be able to get the most interaction. But I've read Grey's can get stressed easily around other birds, should I set the cage up in my bedroom? My senegal parrots are relatively quiet most of the time, and I think they'd enjoy the interaction with the grey, but I don't want to stress anyone out. One more question: noise factor. Every grey I've ever known (and all the research I've done) says a grey is much like a senegal in the loudness relm: senegals have the ability to be loud and screechy, but rarely are. How are your greys in that area?

And I'm so excited! I put down my deposit today, I find out the sex in a couple of weeks. I'm new to grey ownership, but not new to birds. I have two senegal parrots and a peach fronted conure.
