1. Dayo needs to learn about the rules and regulations of property rights!!!. Jake's obviously the smart one, getting an almond for letting Dayo invade his property!!!! Sully is always going into Ana Grey's cage when she is out. I think Sully thinks her view is better or something. Thanks for sharing Dayo the Invader with us!!!!
2. Pfccamp, congratulations on being a grey owner. I don't have any experience re-homing a grey but I re-homed an Eclectus and it took taking things slowly and at the bird's pace. Good luck with your new grey and karma to you for taking in an older grey.
3. Did the lease you sighed specify no pets? Have you talked directly to the management company and explained your situation? I believe they should give your deposit back if they knew you had pets. It would certainly be quite unfair to not give you the opportunity to quit the premises if they later changed the rules. A consultation with a legal representative to find out your rights would be my way to go if you can't resolve this amicably first. Good luck Nims. I wish I could help but I am in the US.
4. Yes if I give Ana Grey too much food she drops through the grate what she least likes and eats all of her idea of "good stuff." Less to choose from, less selective eating and less waste!
5. I'm going to say a male!!! Waiting patiently to find out the correct answer!!!
6. Dan about the photos, I have a lot of photos, my son and daughter-in-law have taken loads of pictures. I won't share the photos because there are many tubes and devises needed to protect my little grandson and I don't want to share that. As soon as Little Dino is device and tubing free, you can bet on getting to see him. I am so proud of this little fighter! And thanks everyone for the Happy Birthday Wishes!!!!
7. Greymom, I am so very happy that sweet little Rita is home. What a marvelously happy ending to this thread. I am overjoyed with happiness for you and especially for Rita's safe return. What a great community you live in!!!! And Rita ...... you're grounded!!!!
8. Hi Claire what a nice introduction to you and Loui. Welcome to the grey family!
9. Ana Grey has probably been on my shoulder not more than 5 times. I don't particular like my birds on my shoulder that close to my face, plus I have a birthmark on my neck that is an attraction for her. She really prefers to sit on my chest and get her cuddles and I prefer to be able to see what she is up to.
10. Both of my fids have playtops and seem to love them. I leave the doors open and they go in and out as they please. The two I have have lots of places to hang toys with a wood ladder/perch for them to sit on.

IT'S A BOY

Congratulations on your baby boy Char! Can't wait to hear what you name him!!!
12. Maxxheadroom, my sweet Ana Grey makes sounds ten times louder than that when she wants my attention or even when she is just vocalizing after her bath. Have you tried leaving the TV or radio on for Gizmo? I believe he is just calling for you. When my grey calls out I just talk back to her so she knows I am around. When I leave the room both my fids call after me so before I leave I tell them "I'll be right back" and they are calm. If I am gone too long they call again and I call back. Just like with a small child they want to know where the family/flock are.
13. Kaleigh, how Charlie got you up, his "cussing," gave me the biggest laugh. Thanks for brightening the morning!!!!
14. Congratulations Chris on your new baby (I'm assuming a Grey)! Can't wait to see some pictures of #5 !
15. Hi Vanessa, very nice introduction. Can't wait to see more pictures of your little flock and hear more about them. Welcome to the grey family!
16. Hi CharliesMom, what a handsome grey Charlie is. I look forward to hearing more about him and seeing more pictures. Welcome to the family!
17. Oh what a little stinker Benji is!!!!! As a heads up, I read in a bird book or magazine to always keep a bowl in the bowl openings because birds can get caught in the food guard if the bowl is removed. Benji is so curious and mischievous I thought I'd just pass that info on. Can't wait to hear more about your little Houdini. He sounds like a real fun grey!!!
18. Raghuveer, you have already received some good advice. You do need to keep your dogs away from your new grey, what is her name? She is growling because she is afraid and if you are nervous around her she can sense it and become more unsure of her surroundings. So calm down. If she were in a larger cage, one with openings to remove and replace the food and water bowls you wouldn't have to worry about being bitten. You must change her water and food every day or she will get sick. Bring her cage lower so she can see you and talk quietly to her. With the dogs out of the room she will be able to relax and your calming attitude will do wonders for her. She is still a baby looking to you for guidance. You are her flock now. If you are patient and loving you will have a wonderful forever companion. It just takes time and patience.
19. Thanks Everyone!!!! Time for a Happy Dance!!!!
20. This is great news Wen!!!! Your patience will surely be rewarded with a wonderful forever companion!!! I couldn't be happier for you. Pictures please if you have any you would like to share.
21. Debbie what a very wonderful thing to do. I wish the very best for Riley/Mootsie. Can't wait to hear how things go on Sunday. Waiting patiently for your post.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/07/24 02:16
