The Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge is located in the pristine Manu cloud forest on the verdant eastern slopes of the Andes. Name three species of birds that have "wood" in their name.
  6. Well there you go, I've been busted. Never have been much of an Indiana Jones fan! Hope you can catch Alfie whistling the rest of the tune. I would love to hear it!
  7. Wow what a great Java Tree stand! I don't dare let Ana Grey see it or she will want to visit Harvey and probably stay!!!! Harvey is a lucky grey and very spoiled for sure!!!!
  8. Haven't a clue, but am very curious to find out the answer!
  9. I don't let my grey on my shoulder, she loves to nip my ears. Just to be doing it!!!! When she flew to my 10 year old grandson's shoulder that totally re-enforced that there would be no shoulder riding for her. My grandchild's vision is much too precious for any accidents intentional or not.
  10. Sounds great Lyn, might give it a try with my little stinker!!!
  11. Very nice turn there Alfie!!! You'll be dancing up a storm in no time!!! Congrats on your training abilities Lyn, Alfie is a star!
  12. Great picture of Issac. My grey loves to play with practice golf balls. The ones with holes in them. Well she likes to throw them on the floor for me to pick up anyway!!!!
  13. I don't belong to your e-mail provider to couldn't see your new grey. Hope you can post some pictures soon!

  15. Hi Christine, welcome to the Grey Forums. You have come to the right place to learn about African Greys. There are oodles of threads about just about every grey subject so read, read, read. If you can't find an answer to a question, just ask and we'll see if we can help you.
  16. I believe it all depends on the socialization that your grey gets from the breeder. I was very lucky in getting my grey as her grandparront was very particular on who got her very socialized babies. None of her babies leave home unless they are totally weaned and eating a variety of foods. I still have to smile at all the food that Ana Grey's breeder sent home with her and all the information about greys that she provided to me! So I agree with others, you don't need to handfeed your grey to be more bonded with your grey. Ana Grey trusts me totally and she is fearless, thanks to her great breeder who is always available for me to talk to about "her" baby.
  17. Hi Ana Grey here, finally a place so we can tell it like it really is!!!! I have the most fun sitting on top of the computer screen punching the screen off button with my beak. What a laugh when Janet swats at me shouting "stop that"! I just fly away. So glad I can finally fly. At least she did something right!!! I'm much too fast for her now and she always misses with her swings. Besides I'm improving her cardiovascular system and she gets some exercise at least!!! Oh poo, I hear her coming. She promised to bring me back some apple slices from the kitchen. What a sucker!
  18. Oh Marguerite, you have a good heart to watch such an unruly little Lucy. You can take heart in knowing that Lucy will be better for her stay with you and much more obedient. I hope your brother and sister-in-law are appreciative and return with a marvelous thank you gift for you! I hope you give them what for for not immunizing their dog. You're a loving sister and your points to heaven have jumped sky high!
  19. Oh Ouch Charlie!!!! Glad to hear that you are healing quickly!
  20. What a great picture of Blue and his Pop! It is very plain to see that there is a long and loving bond going on there! Thanks for sharing with us Sheila!
  21. Hi Cheryl, welcome to the Grey Family! Please tell us a little about Rose and how she happened to become part of your life. If you have any pictures of Rose, we would love to see her!
  22. Lovely pictures shanlung! I wish my Ana Grey could fly like that!
  23. Thanks for re-posting this thread Penny. We all need a little remember every once in a while to keep us all on our toes for our fids good health.
  24. Ramsabi, I hope that you will be able to work something out with Ranaz's help. Prayers for a proper solution and help for Rishi coming your way.
  25. Hi Sanzoni, so sorry that things are not going well with your baby grey. Something has caused your grey to be leery of you and your family. Can you tell us what your routine is with your grey? How you and your family interact with him? Perhaps with some deeper information, some help can be provided. Have you talked to your grey's breeder about the problems you are having as he/she would know your grey best. If your grey had an unpleasant experience at the vet, this can take time to get over. They are very intelligent. Being calm and understand is an important plus. What is your grey's favorite treat? That is what I would use to get him back in his cage. I also use my arm has a step up perch for my grey. It is much more sturdy than a hand/finger. Grey's do use their beaks to test if a perch is strong enough to hold them so if you pull your hand/arm away when your grey reaches out to test it with his beak, you might get bitten if your grey is trying to steady his perch. Patience is the key to earn our greys' trust.
