  1. Congratulations Jill, Harvey finally got a word or two in! Good for you Harvey! This is exciting news. I would love to hear Harvey crow like a rooster. Can you fit that animal sound in Jill, pleeeezzzze!!!!
  2. I joined this forum before I got my grey so read all the things to do and what greys didn't like. When I read that some greys didn't like bathing or showers I was determined that Ana Grey would at least tolerate them. When she first came home I starting bathing and spraying. She loves it now. I suggest that you don't give up and continue to mist and take her into the shower. Judy has some great suggestions that I would try if I where in your situation. Good luck!
  3. Not to worry Ryan, in this household I let my natural charms thwart these sorts of male leanings!!!!
  4. Does any one watch Vampire Diaries. I'm not into vampires but the guys on this series are (sorry but have to say it) "to die for". They are gorgeous, Damien and Stephen are va va voom male vampires!
  5. Ahhhhhhh, Murphy has chosen Kate as his favorite. More pictures please!
  6. What I like is how the grey waits until all the work is done and the door open before she goes on her merry way!!!!!
  7. Ana Grey has been my grey and friend from the moment we met. Of the four babies from the clutch she chose me. She was the one who came to me. All the way home, she sat at the front of her travel cage making sounds and doggy barks (the breeder had a couple of small dogs) and taking treats from my hand (the breeder had given me bags of pellets and treats to take home). When we got home she cuddled in my arms and fell asleep. She has always trusted me and accepted me as her parront. Even if I scold her and swat her away when she is bad she always comes back. I have never sensed that she is leery or afraid of me. If I am speaking seriously to her she always cocks her head and listens intently. I believe this is all due to the wonderful breeder who weaned and socialized her. Millie instructed me on how to care and provide for my new grey and Millie prepared my sweet grey to cope with a new parront. Ana Grey has trusted me from the very first day we met because that is what she knew from her breeder; that her parront would love and care for her. I try hard never to break that trust.
  8. Another great video of Emma chatting away! Thanks for sharing it Adina! You are blessed with a very verbal grey! Lucky lady!
  9. Just too cute!! [video=youtube;5Yd-IuZtRsc]
  10. Don't worry Logan. Please don't get on the defensive about thinking Kehei won't like you. Grey can sense feelings as they are very intuitive. Just relax and enjoy your new grey. Give her time to get to know her new home and the new members of her flock. I think it's great she likes your young son as a lot of greys don't like children at all. Just give Kehei some space to absorb everything and see what a loving and caring family she is now a part of.
  11. Oh I am sorry to hear that Yoshi's owner has decided to clip her. And of course it is every owners right to protect their fids the way they see fit. I understand the fear the owner has that this might happen again. But the way to see that this was a one time occurrence is to be more diligent with securing the indoor space, not punish the grey for doing what is natural. When I first got my grey she was clipped and I was heartbroken each time she tried to fly and failed. It took over a year for new flight feathers to replace the old. Ana Grey is so much happier now that she can fly and she is a joy to watch fly through the house to me when I call. A flighted bird is absolutely beautiful and so very self-confident and happy! I wish your friend and Yoshi the best of life. I am so glad Yoshi is home safely.
  12. For some reason Ana Grey does not poop on me. I don't allow her on my shoulder but for the time it takes for her to get from the back of my desk chair to my chest as this is where she can sit and get scratches and huddles. I don't like have droppings around that's one of the reasons I don't have a cat, I hate litter boxes!
  13. This will be interesting! Can't wait to have the mystery solved, maybe!!!
