ZuPreem's VeggieBlend, although my parrots don't really eat much of their pellets.

I purchase from nuts.com all the time and they are great and offer very good service. Get all my pistachios, pine nuts etc. from them. They always throw in an extra treat.

I have a TAG (305g), a CAG (505g) and a Zon, they each have this same cage. I love it as the front totally opens for easy cleaning. The spacing is 3/4" and it works very well for all three.

From the research I have done this could just mean your parrot is happy and having a good time. My parrots do this all the time and it makes me smile to know that they are content, and healthy parrots.

Thanks everyone, Cappy is a happy little guy. He rings his bell and really eats up a storm. Oh Judy you are so observant. Yes, I did have another but unfortunately, I tried to treat him like a parrot and had him out of the cage at his leisure. I forgot how swift small birds are and he was out the door before I could blink. A very big mistake and one I am trying hard not to repeat. Cappy will be living in my office, with a screen over the door so he cannot escape. As for him getting along with the parrots, forget it. Ana Grey would have him for lunch, she is not a fan of small birds. She would stalk him I am sure, so there will be no interaction. Cappy loves fresh veggies and having to cut them ever so small is a challenge but Cappy has a very healthy appetite.

Meet Captain Caruso, my new baby red male canary. I didn't start off looking for a red canary just a male canary because I love their song. Little Cappy is the only male canary I could find in my small town that I could purchase from the breeder. I nicknamed him "Cappy" because he has a black spot on the back/side of his head and it looks like a cap. I was surprised to learn that red canaries have a special diet during molting season to help them maintain their red coloring. So meet Captain Caruso II, aka Cappy: Cappy is just starting to sing. I was also surprised to see that he also likes to play with bells. he is quite handsome, if I do say so myself.

Great advice has already been given so I all I will say is, please introduce yourself in the Welcome room so we can get to know your grey (her name) and you.

Thanks Dan, great and accurate advice. My Louie, the untouchable zon, is a biter although he has never broken skin and very seldom bites a very hurting bite. We have been working for over a year to understand each other.

So not truel My Louie, the zon, the untouchable, loves me to pieces. He watches me intently and follows me around the house and although I can't touch him, he is the most cooperative of my three parrots. (the other two'greys I have had since they were weaned). Slowly Louie is now landing on my shoulder, on my chest or climbs on my arm, but at his pace. I know some day he will be the most loveable of my parrots. In fact my kids love Louie the best although no one can touch him without a bite. Go see both parrots. They will let you know if you are right for one or the other of them.

You have been missed Barbara and I am delighted that you caught your condition quickly and all will be fine.

If I could only have two parrots, I would choose a grey and an amazon. Both are intelligent and loving. My BF zon talks up a storm and is very busy and comical.

You need to visit both parrots and see how they act and relate to you. If either has issues remember you have to be able to deal with them. In your heart, are you ready and able to do that? You can get advice here, but we are not there to meet the greys and see first hand what the issues/problems might be. I have a zon that I adopted more than a year ago. He is a comical and happy guy, but I have not been able to touch him but he can touch me all he wants. He has just started to come to me and sit on my arm/shoulder. He is a biter and it takes a lot of patience to deal with Louie. However, I watch him watching me and that guy really tries to understand what I want him to do. We have worked out a pretty good relationship and I can get him in and out of his cage pretty easily. But I have not given his a tickle and certainly not a cuddle. Only you know what you are ready for, what you can tolerate and how patient you can be. I will be honest, of my three parrots, my family like Louie, the zon, the untouchable, the best. His personality and happiest with life are contagious.

I have two greys, one tag, one cag. The tag, Ana Grey will be 4 in August. The cag, Sterling Gris was 1 in March. I have had both greys for about 8 months now. Ana Grey since she was 4 months old. They do not play together. They do not like each other. They do fight beak to beak but not viciously. Of my three parrots, Ana Grey the smallest is the boss. They each have their own cage. They do go into each other's cage when the other is not there to steal food. They do allow this intrusion without going after each other. If I had to give their relationship a name it would be friendly enemies. I am constantly telling them "no fighting", "stop that", etc. I am retired and live alone. Could I put up with their fights if I were a working mom with children. Probably not. However, at my stage in life, my parrots are my children and I love it.

My Sterling Gris did the exact same thing when I first brought him home at 5 months old. He was a clumsy guy. I can relate to the fear that goes through you when you hear a grey screaming. Got some good bites while untangling his wing from between the bars. What a freak accident. As for the twirling around, my zon, Louie, is a fantastic twirler and loves to swirl around all the time. I don't use rope of any kind but I do use medium to large plastic chain. Please don't use small metal chain as my Cag, Sterling Gris, got all tangled in a small link metal chain and it was H e double l l getting his loose through his screaming, biting and flapping around.

I can see from your post that you have analyzed and kick this problem around in your head a lot. As others have said relax as our parrots can read us so well. It takes a lots of time, strong will and patience to live with a re-homed parrot mostly because you don't know what really is/are your companion's problems and their causes. All you can try to do is figure out how to help. One thought is the use of hemp seed, if you check the internet about plucking and the use of hemp seed, it works in some cases. Hemp seed is a used also in canary food to help with the male singers. Love is the best help you can give Billy along with patience and a calm attitude. From your writings we all know you have lots of love for Billy so enjoy him and know you have made his life so much more enjoyable and loving.

Would love to see Chili Peppers acrobatics. Louie, BF zon, loves to flip on his back and lie in the sunshine when I take him outside. So perhaps it is a zon trait as well.
