whenever i would get a new bird, and he or she were still scared and biting, i would just leave them in the cage and sit everday with them and talk to them, for at least 30 mins. i did this for like 3 days, then i would open the top and let them stand there, they might not go up at first but after about an hour, they would always rise, when i would open it up, i would stay a few minutes close to them and talk to them and then slowly i would move away, and just sit there, i wouldnt talk so that if they were still scared they would feel alone, or safe, once there at the top, id go and have another little chat, i would leave them at the top for a few days then once their comfortable I'd try to get them to stand at their play stand.. and slowly i would get closer and they usually would be used to the new atmosphere and people by now so slowly Id try to show them just a bit, if they growl, whistle or talk calmly to them, if they dont calm down, try to just talk with them for a while till you sense he's calmed down either repeat it, or try again the next day! *this was i would do, i dont know if this is right or wrong.. and my birds have always been clipped at their arrival, its easier for me to handle them and get them to calm down when clipped....again this is my opinion.. i hope it was good advice...if not sry! its just always worked for me*

Im so sorry, any news on the autopsy? With time you will feel better...
-
Thats very good advice He wasnt alone though.. my sister was in the same room.. he was just frightend that i appeared from no where.. so now before i leave my room i stomp my feet and knock on my door so that he knows im coming.. I will try putting some pillows.. The vet kaskoo went to was a very nice lady that kept treating him and whistling and playing so kaskoo doesnt usually stress to visit to the vet.. I was worried someone would say take him to the vet, since he fell yesterday and was at the vet on Monday!

thank you.. The feathers bleed for about a minute or less.. and then they stop.. kaskoo's play stand is close to the stair case in my house.. I never actually thought it would be important since his wings are clipped, also behind him to the left a bit is my bedroom door, yesterday as i left my room, (i think kaskoo was preening or drifting off) he heard me and jumped off his cage.. and hit the first step..and he kept slipping off the stairs..he fell about 10 steps, i was running after him trying to catch him, and when i did i gave him a good long hug..;p and i checked his wing and feathers..and he WASNT bleeding! :ohmy: of course i totalllly changed his play stand spot.. i have to admit it was my fault..:unsure: {Feel-bad-0002006A}

For the hird time this week, kaskoo fell and brook a blood feather! I took him to the vet today, a few hours before the 3rd feather bleed, and he gave me two types of medicines that i should put in his water for 10 days each... Anyways.. he isnt plucking them, its just that his feathers are just beginning to grow back, so he can only fly a little and then he crashes..I've tried to hold his feet as he flaps..but that only gave me a VERY bloody bite :angry: The only thing that half worked was that i would support his belly with my hand..but he doesnt like that too much..he thinks i mean climb up.. soo..a few questions :dry: how long will it take for his feathers to fullly grow back?..we cut them last September.. can i prevent this bleeding? and...:blush: does your bird eat at night? like after hes been put to bed and covered and everything... because kaskoo has a midnight snack at around 4 in the morning:P thank you!!:cheer: :kiss:

Welcome! Your going to have a ton of fun here! Whenever I get my friends to kinda half listen to me blabbering about my CAG, Kasko, they keep telling me that hes sooo spoiled, i give him too much attention, and spend soo much money on him! But I know he wants more attention and toys..which gets me back on the search of new toys... Dont worry..you can talk allll you want with us about Tigerlilly we wont mind!! I'm sure we'll have just as much fun watching Tiger lilly grow as you do! :lol: :cheer:

I think he likes your hair a lot! But I know its annoying and it hurts too.. I think try tying up your hair..and then if he starts to tie himself up, put him back and tell him no.. It'll take A LOT of patience :dry:
-
Thats why I immediately take him down as soon as he gets up there judy! :unsure:
-
Kaskoo does that too!

Kaskoo still does his daily attempts to take-off... He's waiting for the day he can begin to fly...I'm sure he's really worried they'll grow back without him knowing.. Im sure Baxter will be fine! Relax! Have fun with him... and Congratulations! :woohoo: :silly: {Feel-good-000200A2} :woohoo: I think the only thing you need to worry about is the kitchen... and Suzziques idea of a beaded curtain will help! :side:
