Aw kevin, you're not having much luck with this. Have you read the forum thread on how to post pics? It might give you some tips you haven't tried. We're dying to see some pics!!

Alfie's been at it again, but she has progressed onto half closed doors!! I was ironing in this room and didn't want her coming to investigate, so I pushed the door almost shut so she could still see us but couldn't get through - or so I thought! How stupid of me to underestimate her! I won't be getting a video of it cos I don't want her to do it again, but here is a pic of how closed the door was! I had Alfie return to the scene of her crime just to add perspective! It's 11cm!! I don't even know how she did it!!

Alfie is always wanting what she can't have - anything lying on the desk and it's like bees to a honeypot! Her latest obsession is Davids specs case - it's one of those ones that snap shut. It's pretty sturdy so lately we've put a treat in it and it usually keeps her occupied for a good ten minutes! This time, she was persisting with going onto the desk, but when I saw that she was after the case, I let it go cause she can't do any harm with it. She'd been at it for a few minutes, when, a split second after I noticed she had gone quiet (always a sign of trouble!) she let out her contact call - a two tone whistle that we use whenever we get home. I turned round to see her standing on one leg, looking at me and the other leg in the air....trapped inside the case!! Obviously I didn't stop to take a photo first, but answered her call for help, but I wish somehow I could have snapped it, it was just the funniest thing. Of course she was fine and just went right back to it!! She hasn't gotten trapped again though! Hope you and yours are all well! Lyn & Alfie xx

Hi Kevin, Are you trying to post a photo into a regular forum thread, or into the photo album? I tried to upload photos into the album at the weekend using photobucket links, but the same thing happened - hit submit and nothing. So I found that when I take the photos straight off my computer using the browse button - hey presto!! There is also a limit on the size you can upload, so be sure to check that. So another wee update. We had gotten to having a shower once a week, with no objections, but then at Christmas time, her shower didn't go so well. No biting or squawking or anything she just flapped a bit more than she has been doing. We had house guests at the time so that maybe just unsettled her. Anyway, I left her for a couple of weeks, not wanting to make it worse, when something started to happen. On several occasions when she came with me to the kitchen to do this dishes, she started showing an interest in the running water, which she never has before (I read a thread recently, but can't remember who it was by - about how she had a recording of running water and it seemed to help the bathtime bit - I thought it was an excellent idea and taped some running water onto Alfs wordy birdie). Any way she was now showing way more interest than she ever had before, to the point of hanging upside down from the net curtains, about a foot above the sink and fluffing up and wiggling her wings! She looked desperate to get into that water! I put about an inch in the bottom of the sink and left the tap just trickling for the sound effect, and threw some of her toys in to encourage her. In total, over the last couple of weeks, she has spent about two hours hanging off the edge of the sink, trying to find the courage to jump into the water, and last night - she finally did!! Now fair enough, she only stayed in a millisecond, but hay - it's a start!!:cheer: It's funny because she hasn't been interested every time we're in the kitchen - she must really have to be in the mood! Anyhoo, her visits to the kitchen are becoming more frequent, to give her more opportunity to "be in the mood"!

My goodness! Good luck with that! It's a good job there are people like you, and one or two other members here, who are strong enough to do things like this and help birds who really really need help. I couldn't, at least not now. Maybe in the future.... Do let us know how you come on.

Hi Jess, Yes Alfie has had one of these for just over a year, and loves it, it's just gone back in her cage after a wee break and she's knocking seven bells out of it! However, as Julie has just pointed out - it is breakable. Just yesterday Alfie pushed one of the buttons in so far it no longer makes a noise now on that button, although she has taken a year to do that. I do inspect it every day though, as I do with all her toys to make sure they are still safe. I keep trying to get a video of her playing with it, but she leaves it to focus on the camera whenever she sees me!! I've just recommended this to someone too. It doesn't go in the cage, but is so great because you can record what you like on to it and leave it to run continually while you are out at a chosen interval. Hi Adelt. Sorry to hear you're having a spot of trouble with Sugar. You don't mention how long he's been with you? It may take some while before he settles in with you, so just give him time. When you move him to the kitchen, do you move his whole cage? Or do you move him into a seperate cage? Either way, it may be upetting to him not being able to settle in "His spot" Some of the other members are sure to chip in with some good advise for you. Good luck with him.

Hi Scottygrey and Welcome to the forum! My grey, Alfie was "my" bird, and I was her favourite up until she reached about a year and a half, and now (she'll be two next month) she prefers my fiance, even though I do all the feeding cleaning etc (not fair lol). Having said this, I still get on pretty well with her most of the time and can handle and pet her etc! Hope this helps. Lyn & ALfie.
