1. Now from something really BIG - to something reeeeally tiny!
2. Man! That is one Biiiiig bird!! It amazes me how those things stay in the air!
3. Glad to hear it's nothing too serious with Rocky - hopefully you won't see that lump on him again. Don't feel too sad about it - accidents happen and I'm sure we've all towelled our birds at one stage or another. At least now becasue of your post, everyone will be extra extra careful with it! Hope Francis' lump turns out to be not too serious too!
4. Very exciting guys! Keep those cameras poised to capture those precious first moments in the air!
5. Oh same here Jill - I didn't lose anything at all the first week! I was disheartened, but not discouraged and managed to lose some the second week! Welcome Ashley!
6. Oh well done Robin! It just goes to show - never say never! Hope the next shower goes just as well! x
7. Oh yes - lol! I just read the caption that goes with the pic! I'm terrible for just looking and pictures and not reading the words!! It is honeycomb right enough!
8. What a stunning bird Jay - another sad story though on how rare they are! Is that a honeycomb that bird is showing interest in in that lower pic? How unusual! Thanks Jay for another interesting thread!

10. Hi Martin - lol - Paddy sounds like a real little character! Can't wait to see some vids of him!
11. JillyBeanz wrote: Hmm - might we get a cut of that if we give one or two contributory ideas along the way?!!
12. Robin, as Dave says - the flapping and flapping is her strengthening herself up in prep for flying. If she is launching herself off her cage she is at least showing an interest and may just need to refine her skills!! Do what Janet has suggested and just give her short distances at first - maybe sit her on the back of a chair while you move a couple of paces away and encourage her to fly to you so you can help with the landing. If she wants to, and it sounds like she does, she will do it, and the bond between you will just grow. It'll be so exciting watching her find her wings! Keep us posted!
13. And of course if there are any more (interesting) incedents to report I shall be sure to pass them on!!

Post edited by: pearllyn, at: 2010/01/24 20:26
14. Lol Robin - I'm glad to hear Alfie's antics are educational as well as entertaining! You must have a never ending case history pot from what goes on here!!!
15. He's a beauty Judy! I used to have a blue crowned ane he was such a character. I'm glad he's mellowing with your grandkid a little - it's not nice watching conflict between loved ones!
16. judygram wrote: Well Judy - it surprised the hek out of me!!! But as you say, where there's a will, there's a way and if I've learned one thing about grey's - they are willful! Janet - I really don't know yet how she did it - I was really gobsmacked!! When you see that gap in real life it's unbelievable! I would be really interested to hear if anyone else's nutcase has atttempted something like this - I really wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen her do it myslf!!
17. And again! I'm going to have to be really careful of how we leave doors as she's becoming more willing to have a go at anything.
18. Me too Janet!! There are approximately 27 species of Amazons depending on how you classify them. Species have subspecies as well. Amazons are one of the largest groups of parrots and range from South American to Northern Mexico. Nine species of Amazons are from the islands in the Caribbean.
19. That is odd. I hope Francis are Rocky both ok and it's nothing too serious. x
20. Supernova wrote: Haha - surely not!! Especially not with so many minor babes in line ready to snap you up!!!!
21. Penny, I don't think you were obliged to give any, but the motives you had for opening an Amazon room were as good as any I could think of!!! How sad that you've been made to feel guilty by something someone may have said to you regarding the room!. Please don't, but instead, as Dee said, rediscover your excitement! I for one am enjoying the zon room - and I don't even have one! Thanks Penny, and everyone else for all the time and effort you put into this place! x
22. Hello Martin, Rocky & Paddy, and welcome to the forum! It's sounds like you have quite an entertaining family going on there! Looking forward to hearing more about them! Lyn & Alfie.
