Oh Robin they are gorgeous photos! That is soo nice that they get along! So who would you say is who's pet there?!! Thanks for sharing.

Oh how Precious! You are so lucky to be involved with your baby at this age - I missed this bit of Alfie. We have watched these babies on the webcam and it's so lovely to know you are getting one of them and we can know how he/she is going to grow and be able to see the progress. Dave has done such a smashing job with these babies - they've had the best possible start in life. Thanks so much for sharing these photos with us. They're great. x

Oh I'm soo sorry Jay and Maggie. You are having a real trying time. How awful for you. It's bad enough having to cope with Spocks illness, but now to lose poor little Prince aswell....Is his mate missing him terribly? I do hope things start to look better for Spock soon - you are due a little sunshine. x

Lol - how sweet is she?!! When they get a sound they play it to death don't they!! Love it. thanks for sharing.

Hehe, yes Alfie has hissy fits regularly, although not as frequently as she used to! It's the funniest of things to watch - I was quite alarmed the first time I saw it though, and posted the subject on here to see if it was normal!! Apparantly it is!! See "poplular posts" below - there are some funny stories!

Post edited by: pearllyn, at: 2010/02/03 20:20

It sounds as if Vree is at least comfortable while you wait to hear from the vet, Him eating and chirupping to you is a really good sign. Hopefully the vet will be back in touch with a plan of action soon. x

I Can't wait to see how this progresses - the colours of the fabric are beautiful! x

I must say it's been on my mind - not for right now, but perhaps in the future sometime. Thanks for starting the thread celticdance, it could certainly throw open an interesting debate or two - Jans video (Thanks for sharing Jan) certainly backs up the theory of cross species buddies!

My goodness - I remember Rishi's story vividly but wasn't aware he was still poorly. I read in amazement about Ram and Sabi sneaking through customs to get Rishi the treatment he needed, and thought this was a story of pure devotion. Absolutely Rishi is in my thoughts and prayers. Your flock are all wishing you well Rishi. x

Hi KdK, I'm so sorry to hear about your baby's accident, It's the hardest thing to watch a loved one in pain. I'm sorry not to be able to offer you any advice - I have no experience with birdie accidents, hopefully some of our more experience members will chip in for you. What is your greys name? Have you had him since he was little? I'm amazed the vet sent him home, but the fact that she did means she must be hopeful for a recovery? Where abouts are you? Is your vet close by? The most important thing is not to let your little one suffer. If he is resting comfortably, just keep him quiet until the vet gets back to you. I'll be praying for his recovery. Do please keep us posted. Lyn & Alfie. x

Jan that is an awesome looking playstand! And Tobie is looking lovely! Can't wait to see him flying! Lol - the cleaner looks like she was doing a thorough job!!

Glad to hear Mookie is coming around! No social skills doesn't sound crazy at all! At least you have something to work on - it sounds as if your patience is paying off already! Keep up the good work and keep us posted! On a safety note, there are many good threads here about what is and is not safe to have your bird around!

Hi, just wanted to re-introduce myself! :)
pearllyn replied to animalINSPIRED's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Hi Taylor! Lovely to have you here! How exciting about your new baby! I'll bet you can't wait!! animalINSPIRED wrote My story too! I've had Alfie almost two year and just love her to bits!! Looking forward to hearing more about your baby and maybe seeing some photos if you have them! Your breeder sounds great, but if you want to know anything just ask away - someone here is bound to have the answer!! Lyn & ALfie x -
Shanlung, I do apoligise if I have offended you with my use of this particular harness. If one of my ideas had been pinched by a big company, I think I would want to puke as well. At the time when I bought my harness I simply wanted one that was safe and comfy for my bird to use. I did a lot of research as to which one to get, and finally settled on this one. I did not know about yours at the time, indeed, I did not know about you at the time - there are thousands of articles out there on harnesses - I didn't read them all! I may not have trusted myself to make one anyway. A far as your statement "What about robbing from the voiceless creatures that I wished some $$ can go to help. But they rather the $$$ go into their bank that they can go laughing to." Perhaps I did help to line the pockets of a big company, but sadly, that's the world we live in - a greedy one, with not enough thought given to the souls we share it with. I make regular donations every month to six different animal charities, the ones I consider make good use of their donations, and I won't be made to feel guilty about buying the harness I chose. It's very generous of you to give the design of your harness freely to all who want it, for only a donation, and hopefully many animals will have benefitted from this generosity, but unfortunately not everyone has such high morals.

As you can see from the photos, the large belt which slides through the neck loop, is adjustable, just by sliding the belt through the buckle. I've found that once I have it as tight as it needs to be, it doesn't budge. The elasticated cord that loops over your hand IS attached to the harness, not the extension. HOpe this helps.

How sad. I love white shepherds. I hope she finds the loving forever home she so deserves.

Hahaa! Alfie loves to get lost in a newspaper too!! Magic!

Well done Jill!! And everyone who is working hard with their Lifestyle modification, weight dropping and immune system boosting Programme, and seeing the results! Anyone not seeing results just yet, don't give up - sometimes you don't see anything for a couple of weeks!
-
Wow Robin - your Harrisons road has been a fairly smooth one! I wished sometimes that Alfie, like Beau, had been weaned onto Harrisons! But.....she ate 3 this morning for breakfast - right one after the other, just like that! And she ate 100% of each one too!! Not taking a mouthful then "Yep, still tastes like crap". (Dan's words  ) and throwing them out!! I'm so excited!! hope it lasts!

Oh Spock! Have the happiest of hatchdays! x Jay I'm so sorry to hear this - it must be awful for you to be holding him close and then have him start screaming. You're doing everything that can be done for him and I'm praying he gets over this and back to his old self. Be sure and give him some extra extra tlc today and some extra treats for his hatchday. x

How strange! I never saw Alfie do anything like that with anything! Interesting vid - thanks for sharing.
