Jenna is home!

Hi Raposa! Congratulations on your new baby. Mine just came home on Sunday so I understand just how you feel. Mine also is the cutest, sweetest, smartest baby in the world. I woke up too early this morning and it is all I can do to not wake him up to see him but I know he needs his sleep so I will restrain myself.:silly: My baby is 18 weeks. How old is yours? I cannot get my bird to eat anything except his pellets. I think it is neat that you can feed him oatmeal.

My baby is home!

Thanks! That is very good information. I appreciate you taking the time to point it out.
3. Hi Smithie. My baby came home yesterday at 18 weeks. He was just now able to come home. Don't get your hopes up because it call depends on wt gain. They have to be sure that the wt continues to go up before they will let them go so don't push and make sure he is ready. My CAG weighed 380 yesterday. I have to take him back in 5 days to be weighed again to make sure he has not lost too much from the stress of moving. They said that he can lose up to 10% of his body wt but any more than that and they will take him back to feed him. I guess what I am trying to say is be patient and be sure he is ready to go. My baby is home!

judygram wrote: Yeah I realize that he is just a baby and will become more independent later on. That is okay becaue if I had wanted a "velcro" bird I would have gotten a Cockatoo. He is still doing good today. Sometimes when I walk over to his case he will put his head down for me to scratch it. Soooo cute!

Post edited by: Char, at: 2008/04/14 22:10
5. My new baby CAG "Simon" has been home for about 3 1/2 hrs now and all is going well. I was kind of nervous after reading so much on the internet about how he would probably be nervous and scared for the first few days. Well, things could not have gone better.:cheer: So far he has cuddled on my chest, let me scratch his head til he got so relaxed he closed his eyes. He has eaten his pellets and even tried some carrot. He has played with his toys and climbed all over his cage and explored. He has stretched and preened for me too. Right now he is sitting on my shoulder grinding his beak. I know that is a good sign!
6. Thank you all for the warm welcome. I have spent hours reading some of the valuable information on this forum. Just trying to glean all the knowledge I can from your experiences. I am an amatuer photographer so you will certainly be seeing pics of my baby.
7. Hello Everyone! I am the proud new owner of a CAG. He will be coming home in a couple of days and I am so excited! He is 4 months old and just weaned. We are going to call him "Simon". We don't know if it is really a male but we are just going to assume he is. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing information and stories about our babies Char
