  7. Hi everyone , I am wondering do all Grey's wake their owners up in the morning or do you wake them up ? My Grey makes his first beep at 7 AM like clock work every morning .Even on Saturdays , when we would like to sleep in .Also how many hours does your bird sleep each night ? Thanks BettyBoop
  8. Matt , Perhaps he will adjust to the schedule that you have . My Grey Sammy , I could set time by his first beep in the morning at 7 AM ...My Alexandrine never makes a peep till I open her door . Bettyboop

  12. Hi James, My CAG , Sammy has the same bluish skin tone around his eyes . It is normal . Mary (BETTYBOOP)
  13. Very Good post , Jane . It really describes what it is all about .They do require a lot of time in the mornings. BettyBoop
  14. Hi KIM , hopefully with all the love and attention you are giving her it will stop . You are doing a good job . Just wait it out , it takes time for bonding and trust to develop. You are on the right track. Kind Regards, Mary Bettyboop
  15. Happy Happy Birthday Merlin !!!!!! BettyBoop and Sammy
  16. Kim I think the introduce yourself was to the person who goes by Nelson Mandela asking questions about their bird plucking . My Question to you was have you ever seen Sammy pull out a feather or are they just in the bottom of the cage ? Greys loose feathers without pulling . Do the ends of the feathers look chewed or smooth , the part that grows out of the bird ? Mary
  17. Perhaps this bird is molting, have you actually seen her pull a feather or just in the bottom of the cage ? My Grey is molting at the moment . Also a new home or change can cause stress which can bring on a molt . Molting can make a bird look pretty rough . Mary (BETTYBOOP)
  18. LOL....IT'S kinda like a newborn baby at first , till you get all settled . It will be fun . Mary
  19. Hi Matt , I agree with lovemygrey 's advice , but to make it much easier to start with find his/her favorite treat .Hold it up to keep the attention on you, then keep showing the treat to the bird , and they will fly to you . After a while they will fly to you because they know they are going to get the treat . I taught My Alexandrine at 6 months to do this , now all I have to say is Zsa Zsa COME , hold up my arm and she will fly to me . My Grey had already been taught this so all we have to say to him is Sammy come here and he does it everytime .It takes a lot of practice at first , so don't give up .Good Luck , you are going to be great with a GREY!!!!! Mary (BETTYBOOP)
  20. Thank you casper... Mary and Sammy BettyBoop
  21. I agree , if she is eating pellets , that is sooooo good and you can offer fruit and veggies for snacks . So glad she is doing better. Hugs , Mary
  22. Is she an Avian vet ? I am surprised she didnt do bloodwork , how can you tell if all is well by looking at them ? They hide illness. Oh well , I guess you need to be comfortable with her opinion . Yes, they do have to have the baths..Keep us informed. Kind Regards , Mary
  23. Hello , the private message was blank . How is Sammy doing with the bath today ? I do hope she is doing ok . Mary
