my grey loves minted lamb... tried it for the first time & he couldnt get enough.. is there a way I can cut the bone of a chicked so he can get easy access to the marrow as at the moment he doesnt seem to bothered about the bone... even though I have tried... chicked bones are ok right - as ur not meant to give chicken bones to dogs & I thought as they splinter easy then maybe not but seems as though u guys have tried it & most greys like it - it is def good for them so do want to try get him to like it.... any suggestions.... hmmmmmmmmmmmm thanx for above info.. Emma & Sensei...xxx

my sensei does not like being at floor level or even lower than others.. his fav place is on top of my living room door where he flys backwards & forwards going from room to room (depending where I am also)... from wardrobe door to kitchen door he is so funny.. got to try get him out of that though as it is not good to be away from everything - he will start isolating himself.. dont want that now do i... anyone suggest anyways I can get him to play mroe with me at a lower level or with some toys as he only climbs on them in the cage not really play - that I see anyway....xx
-
good to read all this info thanx folks... sensei def is a happy boy.. the stretching the mad noises (as he does not yet talk) then bending down of the head for it to b rubbed the climbing on me... the beak grinding & tounge clicking lol... note to metion his exercising of the wings when i first let him out for the day at about 5ish.... it is a daily rutual now... glad to know he is doing all the good things & none of the bad.. even when he doesnt wanna play or be disturbed he has never growled... his bite now is not really a bite more os a playful... oi not now.... or I am busy in a minute... rather then LEAVE ME ALONE... so thats def got better.... he is def coming along just fine... thanx for all info & advice.. will keep reading up & increasing my knowledge of these little fellas....xxx

I myself have them & they are sold in supermarkets for humans to put on there cerel, toast, yougurt etc... there are - hang on let me get the tub.... it says GOOD SEED......sweet & crunchy... lightly toasted hemp seed...eat as a snack or srpinkle on yoghurt, cereal or ice cream - a great source of Omega 3, 6 & 9... then......good for immune system, good for cell growth, good for joints (excuse the pun lol.... this is ment to be in majauana anyway,... by MS sufferers... but that is the weed form - potent).... good for hair & skin... good for cholesterol balance, & good for circulation... so surely all this being good for us.. surely it is good for hem & to be sold in a leading supermarket in the UK surely u cant got wrong.... can u sprout these with water as I have heard that u can???? with others suck as lentils, mug beans, peas... etc... do kidney beans sprout...? xxxx lol...xxx
-
I myself got some already sprouted from tesco's the other day (supermarket) I got mung beans & some geen beans & peas that were already done & packaged.. these can be used in stir fries for us... but if washed can be given to the birds... I brough some roasted hemp seeds that can be eaten by us for omega 2 & 3 & I have also got lentils which I will try & sprout both myself but the easier option is to buy a packet.. the mung beans went down a treat as there easy for them to grip in mouth with beak,.. but the beans & peas smelt a bit funny when got them home so chucked them straight away...lol def not for my sensei,,,, but should b able to get these from supermarkets or maybe health food stores..... def gonna try do it myself also & the wheatgrass....xxxx thanx for all the info above peeps....xxx

Hi, Let me introduce myself - I am 27yrs old, female & live in S E London, UK. I have a 6mths old grey by the name of Sensei (as in japenese for master) - he is the apple (miinus the pips, lol) of my eye, he is divine & brings joy to my life as I do to him. I am looking to this site for info & advice any any tips offered by other grey owners - I have found it very helpful to date indeed...... everyone seems really friendly & polite & have helped me out as much as poss.... asp lovemygreys - many thanks The main topics I am interested in at the mo is topics about food as he is real fussy & a sunflower junky... & speech/tricks.. or training as he is at that age when he can start... oh the noises he makes are so so funny -I hope that this is a good sign.... The profile pic that I have of sensei - he has a cone round his head this was to stop him biting his bandaged toe hehehe... all better now - final trip to vets last night - all clear.... Hope to speak to some of u very soon. regards Emma & Sensei...... my Sexy Sensei Boy (as I call him lol)....
