  1. Hi Imme! the store said that she should be able to come home at around 13 weeks. i cant wait! at the half way mark. This waiting is hard when youve been waiting since she was 2 weeks....
  2. Hi love my greys! My fiance and i go visit her every week. We live about an hour and a half away from her. if i could afford it i would go see her everyday. The store encourages us to play with her. we cuddle her and talk to her and introduce new toys which she promptly ignors.:silly: wow perching in only two weeks! that's cool. She must be growing faster than i realise! Yeah we will have to clip her. My grandfather is kinda afraid of birds but he does anything to make me happy.(he wouldnt buy me a pony though:P )I'm afraid that if she was flying around and she startled him he might, unthinking, smack her or something. the store says that they let them fly for a while before they clip them. is that good? they said it helps them to get their balance and to land well. They told me that she should be able to come home around 13 weeks. does this sound right? or would it be different for a timneh? Oh! one more question about feathers. she has these little purple feathers around her tail. there are some of the red ones too but will she keep the purple???? i hope so. thats my favorite color!!!:woohoo:
  3. Hello! if you have read any of my posts you know that i am the proud and terrified owner of a 7 week old timneh african grey. proud b/c she is sooooo cute and teriffied cause i have no clue what to do and i dont want to break her! I have the "for the love of greys book" but most of this is for after she comes home. what should i be doing with/for her while she is still at the store? what should i be doing while i visit? are there any "games" in particular that we should be playing with her? when will she start talking? when will all her feathers come in? she doesnt move around a whole lot right now. she doesnt quite get her feet under her, well at least she couldnt last week. when will she be walking around? do they automatically know how to perch? should i try to teach her? will she automatically fledge? do i try to help her with that too? ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!:woohoo: *blows up with excitement*
  4. yeah. my caique is playing with them right now
  5. So i finnaly saw a full grown Timneh yesterday. The toys that i got are way too small. Does anyone have any suggestions on what size or type of toys i should get Evolet?
  6. Mine is absolutely noisey! He yaps when he eats, when he plays, in his sleep..... there is no end to the chatter! thanks for that information. It really helps me get a good grasp on what size she is going to be.

  8. that's so wonderful:woohoo: i love it when birds are all silly and playing around. i think its the cutest thing on earth!:cheer:
  9. Wow! ok. That sounds like a decent size. I was thinking that they were bigger than that. It'll be ok though. Their personality sounds a bit better than the congo. I like birds that act like clowns.:woohoo:

  11. I kinda hesitate to ask this but does anyone know how big the Timnehs get? Do you know of a size reference? I know they are smaller than the congos but i dont know how much smaller...thanks!

  13. Ashley, wow the27t? that is a long time to wait! Im sure its all going to be worth it. I have the "for the love of greys" book. The poor thing has so many posties and highlighted parts it looks like one of my college books. I hope that you get to see your little one a lot. i live about an hour and a half from mine.
  14. Raposa, three weeks! I'm so jealous! I'm sure she will warm up to you.Like everyone is saying its probably the daily interaction that she gets with the breeder. Im going to go see Evolet tomorrow. She's big enough to start trying to walk around not. just over 1 month old. I hope she will let me play with her...

  19. I have this plan all made out for a large all natural wood playground!:woohoo: But i have one problem...some of the logs that i have all cut and prepared are too large to fit into my oven.
