Yes Toni the only way to get the true results is by a avain vet. I say that because a regular vet will not know. You need to get the test done and the results will tell you for sure. The theries of feather and color or beak tests are not even close to telling you. I will say that most CAG are males. The females are alot harder to get. ( I dont know why but most are males). Like I said the only true way is to get it sexed by the vet. This test is very cheap it should not cost more then $30.00.

If you look in the training room there is a tread that I posted on body language. Read it and you should get some answers to your question on there.

Hello, Yes that playstand is perfect for a grey and the price is good also. About the moving from the crate to a cage- Intorduce it to him very slowly. You may want to put the cage neer his crate for a wile and see how he takes to it. Let him move in slowly and he will do just fine. If you just put him on or in the new cage he more then likly will get upset and stressed out. Let him go from the crate to the cage and back and forth. He will get acustom to the new cage. You will be much more pleased with the results by doing it this way.

Hello, No Dave the tread was not just posted because of the holidays at all. We here are a FAMILY and sometimes people have to say it once and a while. Its like when you are married and after the honeymoon is over you still have to reasure your spouse that the love for them is still strong and real. That is what I was doing reasuring everybody that this is a great place and the reason for that is that the members and the mods, and admin is the reason for its sucsess. You are right that it is a mans and womans place and there seems not to be the so called "CLICKS" here. For the most part we all get along and we also debate. But that is healthy. A family is a group of people that care for one another and will not always see eye to eye om everything. That only happens on the T.V. Could you imagine if the world was really like LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, or THE BRADY BUNCH that would drive me nuts. You need to have disagreements here and there to make it interesting. I only named a few people but there are many others that I can say are true friends. Just because I left out a name they who know who they are dont really need to be anounced to feel appreciated by me or anybody else.

Hello rea, That is just beautiful. I am not into chain letters but this one is a great one. Thanks for sharing it with us. I would also like to add to this post. Let us not forget the troops over seas. They are putting their live on the line for our freedom. In your prayers tonight and everynight please pray for their safe return. Many families are not as fotunate as some, they lie awake at night wondering what their loved one is doing and if they are safe. So this holiday season look around you, the biggest and best gift you can have is you family and friends with you. There are many other familys that would trade everything they have to have what you have on this special night. Lets all not forget that this is a big night for the lord Jesus Crist. This is the celabration of his birth and he as well as out troops will die for us. Please take this as a very very Merry Christmas from me and my family. God Bless each and every one of you.

Hello fellow family members, At this time I would like to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you here. I have not been here long but I have made some great friends here and I feel very blessed to get to know all of you. We laugh, cry, debate, yell, and disagree at times but I love all of that. Thats what makes us a Family. I value all of your opinions(try to agree with most of the time) and respect your opinions. Some times I come off strong with my replies but I get hot under the collar sometimes(Italian in me) but when the day is over I try to move on. I have met some of the nicest people in this forum and for that no words can express how I feel. The im's we have a fun and we all laugh at the little inside jokes we have going on. When I have had a rough day I can rely on alot of you here to cheer me up. There are times that when I get upset at others here, there are others here to cool me off. I would like to think that I have befriended alot of you and I have became a friends to alot of you. I think that I have alot of experiance with birds and try to give you all good and solid advise. I hope that alot of you take the advise and it works for your situation. We all have our own seperate lives most of us work all day and if there is one thing that I can say is that I know I can come in here and talk to alot of you and get some satisfaction. There are surtain people here that stand out and they are true friends to me. I would like to take a minute to thank them from my heart. Judy- What can I say about you that everybody dosent already know. You are a great friend to me. Dave- Mister sarcastic at his best. We have alot in common and you are a great friend to me. Joe- Well you all know he is my dad and a valuable friend to alot of people here. Dan- Well you are a great person that has a great responce to alot of posts. You are a great friend Marc- The same for you as Dan you are also a great person. Kristin- A gem of a gal with a good heart and loves to talk about all things. I like to talk to you on the im as we do. A great friend to me. Birdmom-Another great hearted person and freind she always seems to want to help you out. Talon- A great admin and a good hearted person. There are many more if I didnt list your name that does not mean that I am not thinking of you. You all have made it very pleasant for me here and there are not many other on-line chats or forums that care for all of its members. I would really like to here from all of you on this and please add to this tread and take a minute to thank someone here to make them feel that they have made a differance to you and your birds life.

Hello, I think that you should weigh out the options first. Like anything else there are pro's and con's. I olve birds so I have 23 in my collection(when the 2 blue fronts arrive I will have 23). So the mess is a everyday chore. Feeding is alot (cutting fresh veggies and washing and cutting all the fruit) buy well worth it. I get to communicate with them and interact with them every morning and night. Then there is the baths, cleaning of the cages( that alone is a half day project)the vet checks, the vet bills, the fights between birds, and the noise levels. But 23 is a far cry from 2 I think that you might need a little more time with the grey you have now(jelious at times). Your other grey is still young and he needs the attention right now. In my opinion you should get him/her under your full control and then make the move to get another one. It wont be totally a bad thing but with two young birds it will be a little hard to train and split your time between the two. If your wife has the time to do it with you it may work. For that to work you would both need to be involved and take turns training and playing with both birds. One night you are with bird 1 and your wife with bird 2. The next night you with bird 2 and your wife with bird 1. This helps also that you dont get 2 one person birds. They will both have equal time with both of you. If you can do this or something along this order it may just work out for you.

Thank you all for the kind words. We love a big tree and thank God we have the vaulted ceilings to fit it.

They get along with them great. Max the Rotty could care less he just loves to eat there scraps they throw around. Duke the Great Dane is the same just want the scraps. Sassy the St Bernard you have to watch her she is untrustworthy when you are not looking. She wants to play and then she wants to put them in her mouth. Other then that they all get along for the most part.

Hello, The only way to tell 100% s with the dna from a avain vet. Like most have said all others are guess work. If you want the truth the vet is the only way.

Hello, Sun conures are in the conure family and are known to be very loud screamers. All conures are loud screamers. Alot of articles compare them to macaws. They ask the question if you want to know how much a macaw scream well listen to a conure. In theie natural setting they are very loud and voistrous. Their screams carry for miles. So yes sun and all conures are very loud screamers( at morning and at dusk) Believe it or not this is a way to do a head count to see who made it through the night and who made it through the day. Clever little birds arent they.

Hello, Baths are very good for the plumage of your bird and the temp is fine. Just watch out for a draft it could make him sick. You can also give him abath and blowdry him( if he allows you to) Ziggy will not at all let me blow dry him. Again just watch for drafts.
