I think that you should try leaving the bottle alone and mabee getting a new cage for it. Please dont try to starve the bird you can do unreversable damage doing that. They loose weight fast and can dehigrate very quickly. This goes back to if its not broke dont fix it. The bird is set in its ways for a reason, it is content on how it feeds and drinks dont let it loose its sense of security. Hello fellow members, I would like to start by saying that we here in this forum are like a family. There are times you love one another and then there are times that we are not going to see eye to eye. We will take everybodys opinion and take that into consideration before we post a reply. What happened in the training room about the EAR BITTING tread was a good way to see how a true family works. We as a whole all stuck together and made sure that there are things that we will not tolerate period. Abuse is a very serious matter. I think that I speak for the most that we will not take it lightly. A joke is a good thing if it is in GOOD TASTE!! and not in bad taste. I love a good joke as much as the next person, but when a member crosses the line of good and bad there is just no other way in opinion to forgive that person.Everyone of us will see things in a differant way. We should all respect that. This tread literally ruffled alot of feathers in here. We as a whole forced a member to leave because we will not take that kind of behavior. Most members here are not going to see eye to eye on EVERYTHING, but in the big picture we will stand up for the one thing that is important to all of us here. I know that we joke at one another and we kid around but we are all true animal lovers here. When a member get a new pet what do they do, they post pictures for the family to see there new bundle of joy. Whether you rescue a pet or buy a baby we all love to see the addition to your home. We also know that that pet will be loved as if it were a member of your family. We also feel bad when a member losses a pet. The member postes a tread that they lost a pet so we can console that person. There not looking for attention or feel that they just want to talk. They post because they want us the FAMILY to be involved and to show our compation toward each other. Please lets not make this into a forum that is filled with politics. Politics are for other forums that just dont care about each other. I will say it is a great thing that we have debates, This shows us that we are human and we are going to be opinionated at times and one sided, but we still can respect the others opionion. We still have to remember that sometimes. We also need to remember that we are all here because we love the animals, and if we didnt love animals we would not have got them in the first place. Tari, Sorry to here this bad news. I have been there myself. I just breaks your heart. Pets become one of the family and when its time to put them down you loose a piece of your heart. Im sure you gave the little one a great life and now she is in a better place. Again I sorry for your loss.

Talon, Thank you for the props that are rightfully deserved to the members that care enough to voice there opinion on a abusive member(IMOP). I for one have not been here for a long time but I have been involved with other forums that the members are rude and cruel toward each other. I dont feel that here in the grey forum. On the other hand I think I speak for the most people here that this kind of behavior will not be tolorated by anybody,this could be from all levels of the forum. I could care less that either a mod, or admin post a barbaric lie or joke I would attact them as well. A title behind your name in my book does not make you any more superior then a new member. I am glad that the likes of people like her just left, We here as a family dont need crap like that on our forum. I say thank you and all the members that voiced our opinions and the member elected to leave(with the family's help).Being from an old Italian household we were taught that you need to respect yourself before you demand respect. I was also taught that if you s h i t in your own backyard you need to live with the stink. She elected to s h i t in our back yard and we simply just took out the trash. She might just be a nice person but as for her post she showed us a side that we just can not forgive.

Briansmum, I agree with some of your post and disagree with most. I think the text she used whether in joke or lie I feel that she put herself in this position to be bombarded. True we would give her the benifit of the dought if she would not joke in this manner. I and many other animal lovers will not stand even in joke this kind of behavior. This is my opinion of this situation. I respect yours and hope you can respect mine. I think that I speak for many here that this is unforgivable behavior. If future bird owners or novice owners would take this advice she has givin we could have had a catastrophe on our hands. Again this is only my opinion. But I tend to think I would be backed up by many here on how I feel.

Lies or not This user is cruel. I mean in 2 ways. First to even joke or to lie about something so horriable. Second if she does that to that poor bird. Either way this is totally uncalled behavior. All I will say is that I hope that poor grey is SAFE. I also hope she got the message there as clear as a bell WE WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS HERE. This behavior is dispicable and should not be tolerated here. To get people upset for one and for advertising false post about a vet and her tactics on how to treat a living animal. For all you new bird owners please do not take any advise from this member on how to treat a bird or anything else she posts.

I dont know why I cant load pictures on this forum will somebody please explain what I must be doing wrong. I resize the picture and it still tells me that the resizing thumbnail has failed. I cant figure it out for the life of me. Quite frankly I am getting alittle agravated over all this PLEASE HELP. I want to post pictures also in the photo room. Hello to the whole grey forum. I have not been on this forum long but I feel that we have bonded very well. This is a on-line family that we have and it is great to talk and to debate with all of you. With the Christmas holiday nearing this is a great post for all of us to express our warmest holiday greeting toward eachother.Lets please not forget about those little spoiled BRATS we have. We must not forget to get them new toys and treats for there stocking. Happy holidays to all of you. Weither you are christan,jewish,or any other faith I would like to say HAPPY Holidays. Please lets also take time to pray for the TROOPS and their families, this is a rough time for both. Please keep them close to your heart and wish them a safe and speedy return. Hey Lynne, hope your Thanksgiving was good. Ziggy and the gang all ate Turkey(bunch of cannabils),yams,mashed potatos, and for dessert a piece of pumpkin pie. They loved it all and were full of stuff. They needed a bath. Well hope your holiday was good I know you were not up to going. I hope you stayed at the horse stables, and were not uncomfortable.

Actually macaws will breed with other species. The hibrids consist of catalina macaw(cross of B&G/scarlett) for example. they will mate with another species in the macaw world. I am not able to say about greys. I would say tho after reading about them they tend to stay within there own species. macaws in the wild will not cross breed. The breeding of the catalina and others are the work of man.

I have to say that you are a real jacka$$ for saying that kind of crap. I have a zoo in my home and if I had your address I would come there and rescue that poor bird from you. JOKE OR NOT YOU ARE A SICK thing. I cant even say person because any person with a heart would NEVER say the s h i t you are. You in my opinion you need to be banned and never be allowed to voice your opinion ever again. That is a rude and cruel way to make a joke about any creature that is on this planet. I tell you I would love to see you on the news about how you lost all of your animals to the A.S.P.C.A. You should never think that you are a comedian because the jokes you tell are in the poorest taste that I have ever heard. And if you are not telling a joke your vet needs to be reported and closed forever for that kind of horses h i t. I really wish your bird well, and not have to ever see you on a forum ever again. You give false info for people that never had a pet neverless a bird. I just hope that your misleading info did not go to far with someone else. I hope that everybody had a great holiday with their friends and families. I sure did we ate till we fell out on the couches. Needed to say that. (black Friday) while you are out spending all of you money please dont forget the little brats we all own. (little feathered friens). They need toys for Christmas also. HAHAHA!!!!!!

Well to all of the distant family here in the forum I would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.( along with the whole zoo I have here). I hope that everyone here is thankful for all you are about to recieve. Being with family is such a great feeling. Please also take a moment at you dinner table to pray for the TROOPS that can not be with there familys on this holiday. They are the reason we are free and make sure that we remain that way for years and years to come. There familys are also to be prayed for, They also are without there loved ones on this holiday. Truly a beautiful bunch of feathered kids you have. I cant believe how much Ariel looks like Ziggy. Looks like they are brother and sister. Just found out that yams are a great source of vitamins. You need to peel them and part cook them let them cool and you have a great treat for your little bundle of joy. Please make sure that you peel the potato there are some things that will hurt the bird in the skin.They have been known to harbor a virus on or just under the peal. Thus, its been suggested by the vets to be much safer to offer them peeled or if you find bad places in them to just toss them out. Well words dont even begin to say how sorry I am for your loss. You know with us having a zoo in my home I can tell you that you fall in love with a pet and it becomes like another child to you. So when GOD takes you little companion from you it hurts so much but you have to say it is in a much better place. I agree dont put the blame on yourself you did the research and were misleaded into thinking it was O.K. to feed it to your grey. Please dont give up there are so many other birds that need a loving home and you sound like you can give another little angel a great home. Please also take into mind dont replace you bird with the thought of replacing the one you lost, but getting a new pet. You can never replace the one you lost. My wife did this when she lost her dalmation, It can never replace but it may fill the void in you heart. What ever way you go I wish you luck. You will make the right choice from your heart.
