Love the net. Where did you get it?

There in Lies my problem...I dont want to add all the extra fat that is necessary with the Stainless. Of course food is always good with the extra fat, but my family just doesn't need it.

Fairymyst, I suffer from MD too, so I can totally relate to how heavy the Cast Iron is. I guess there is no real easy way around it but to try to keep experimenting and using my SS. I will throw a small cast iron in the mix and see how that goes. We have an electric stove/cooktop so I think that plays a factor into how things cook as well. Im not going to give up trying..Thanks for the comments.

Thank You for the Info..I will continue to work with the SS, but its been a learning experience.

I am so sorry to hear of the behavior change, and bite. It could be a combination of many things all that have been mentioned. You need to teach this bird some manners. First and most important Step up, and no more shoulder. Dont give up..and keep us posted.

What a Handsome fellow. Looking Good

Love Love Love the pictures. What a great oppertunity to let your birds have complete access. My birds are out most of the day, however they must be put in their places when I leave. I know I couldn't leave them all alone w/o supervision since they dont get along for the most part. Your lucky to have a happy social flock that enjoys each others close companionship.

I dont use one for my Greys either. However our GC Conure loves his hut. I'ts not exactly a box, but a fuzzy snuggle area. If you think your bird might like one I suggest you get a larger size hut. Or maybe construct your own.

Ok Folks I openly admit I have kept birds in my home for over 20yrs, & I am still using teflon for cooking. Please dont give me the 3rd degree I've read and heard the horror stories. I know I need to make a switch which leads me to questions. Last year we bought stainless steel, and I really dont know if its me or what, but I have a hard time using the pans. I have to add lots of extra fat/oil when using these pans, and we really try to cut our fat. I am so use to using the teflon, that I am having a hell of a time switching over. Not to mention the stainless seems to cook so much hotter, it's hard to find just the right setting, and things are burning. Im wondering if Cast Iron would be a better alternative. Can anyone give me a bit of advice? Any suggestions? I want to forget about Teflon, but my cooking isn't the same w/o it.

As others mentioned you can make your own stand very cheaply. Good Luck..Let us know what you come up with;)

I have 2 Greys one is more of a couch potatoe, where the other is all over the place. Each is so different it's hard to say. I am sure with time you will find what fits the birds needs. Like DanMcQ mentioned they are a bit more Cautious then most birds so be careful and watch for body language.

Oh what a Sweetie, he looks wonderful. Thanks for the sharing

Totally not shallow. I did a name change here, and I haven't noticed that the bird even noticed. She's only 15mos and still young so figured why not. Her name was Sherlock, and it just didn't do much for us.

Great Video, very sweet. Thanks for sharing, puts a smile on my face.

Hello & Welcome to the Forum Joy. I agree with a previous post, your going to have to just keep putting your bird back until it gets the idea that that is where you wish it to be. They can be stubborn but your bird is young, and you are to be the teacher.

Welcome Mitch. Love the Picture of Tigger, I also have a Timneh and they are a Joy.

Welcome Jennifer. How exciting to have your new Grey, I can relate with the situation of Bird introductions since I am working on that in my own home. I have a Timneh that I've had for 7yrs, and the Introductions to our new Congo have been slow going, and a work in progress. I realize they may never be real friendly. We also have had a little Green check Conure that has shared our home for 7yrs, and BOTH Greys are afriad of her. Our Conure is a little bird with a WHOLE lof ot ATTITUDE, and both greys tend to run towards the hills when she is out. I dont blame the greys because the Conure likes to go directly to their feet and bite at them. I've come to realize the conure will most likely never warm up to the Greys.

Scott, Hello and welcome to the forum, you've come to the right place. I have 4 dogs and 2 greys, and all live happily together. The greys are more interested in the dogs then the dogs are in them. My Timneh knows all the dogs names and calls them for me. Supervision is the key for keeping the two happy together in the home. -
Just brought home a 5 month old African Gray

How I got Fernando, my Timneh African Grey
tibanks replied to Animalspirit's topic in The GREY Lounge
Glad you joined us here, and could help a Grey in need. I've enjoyed reading your story and hearing about your bird. I have a timneh I befriended 7yrs ago when she was 3. I also have a Congo that was a second hand bird, she is still quite young only 14 months and new to our home..We are looking forward to spending many happy years together with our feathered friends. -
