Very nice looking stand. I might have to do it myself when I finally get a grey. Thanks for sharing it with us all! kharma for you.

Very welcome addition ... lots of great people here. You certianly seem in a great position to help us out, particluarly those like me here doing research prior to getting their grey.

I do use a good deal of them, since i'm a gamer and quicker typing is typically a life saver in some games. my most typically used are: btw atm = at the moment nm = never mind afk = away from keyboard g2g = got to go I'm sure there are more but i can't think of um off the top of my head they just kinda come out

just remember beccy that the smaller you get it the less detail you can fit in

I definatly a fan of debating myself if you didn't notice. But that said on with the debate I feel your saying that those who clip need to prove why its better but those who don't clip do not is entirely 1-sided. That is the only place I believe your logic is all that "flawed". Saying that in reference to any subject shows me that a person is unwilling to really look at it from the other side becuase there position on that topic is innately "right". Proof is required on both sides of an arguement or else it isn't an arguement (debate)... it's preaching. And in a situation like this one there isn't any "proof" which is better, only each persons own personal opinion.

Welcome to the forums, lots of great information about greys here. I'm also here researching getting a grey. I personally suggest you read the forum post on teflon.

Welcome! I can attest to the no newbie comment from CD, as I've been here maybe 4 days now. Very knowledgable and friendly folks here, whom are always willing to lend a hand

Back to topic... I think Alex was cared for an incredible amount and if you look up the post with his last words I think you'd find that obvious as well.

Okay, as I don't have a grey yet I can't really debate this from experience but I do plan atm to have a unclipped grey and to purchase a harness for taking the bird outside. However, as I continue to research and find more and more potential problems in a living space that could cause harm to a bird I am unsure that not clipping the bird is even a responsible thing for me to do. The thing of convenience you keep referring to, there is a level of convenience and comfort in EVERY aspect of your life no matter how necessary it may seem, that said many people do not choose to clip thier birds wings for convenience despite that an element of it is in play. Your argument is the same as if I were to claim that a person takes their bird to the vet just as a matter of convenience, as you could learn to take care of the bird yourself. The fact that it would take you years to learn the required medicine to perform this act is inconvenient to them. Because lets face it, it's better for the pets mental health if someone it trusts works with it rather than a stranger. So why don't you prove to use why it's reasonable to take a bird to a vet and you'll have your answers!

Thank you both for your posts. This is one of the many reasons I wanted to start my research so far ahead of my actually getting a grey. My favorite pot at home is a teflon coated one and I use it constantly... and have before left it on the stove longer than I meant waiting for the water to boil. If I hadn't read this and someday did the same thing again I'm sure I would have been devistated. Sorry for your losses tari but thank you for sharing.

Couldn't ask for better last words in my opinion. Always disheartening when someone you love dies, but at least it seems he was quite happy on his last day.

I agree entirely with you dan that referring to a grey as domesticated is correct. Yes they do have tendancies that seem to be genetically "wild", but the moment you have an animal as a pet and it becomes use to it, it's been domesticated (I don't care if it was plucked right from the jungle)

Welcome, You'll love the folks here they are really helpful. Make sure to check the forums there is a lot of good info there. There is a video recently posted in the forums that covers hand-feeding that'll help you understand that a bit better.

Welcome, I'm sure you'll find this community of grey lovers incredibly friendly as I have. Enjoy the great wealth of info in the forums. (I too don't have a grey... yet, but it doesn't hurt to look)

Truth of the matter is you can make statistics read however you want to, it isn't very difficult and is used by marketing types constantly to disguise the truth... Lastly you can't call those whom haven't posted here into a discussion about this thread as it does not affect them. Its the equivalent of us saying the majority didn't vote for bush because all those people in canada didn't vote for him... well they don't live here... much as the "other" members who haven't posted here, don't "live" here so to speak

I haven't read the entire thread so when I type this I'm speaking in general. Debate is fine except where the debate goes the way of personal attacks... That said there are topics without a "right" answer, there are means of DISCUSSION that do not fall under the category of debate as your are typically building off each other than tearing away at the others opinion.

Post edited by: CursingLlama, at: 2007/09/14 22:30

Actually Mc is scottish or irish, Moms side is irish. Father side is Hanna which is scottish, though back when it was Hannay... dropped the 'y' when they moved to america... some added an 'h' to the end too Image is bad quality but i'll do better to replace it later Text reads "Per ardua ad alta" = "Through difficutly to the height" don't have a pic of this one yet but this is what it is of Post edited by: CursingLlama, at: 2007/09/15 00:17

Post edited by: CursingLlama, at: 2007/09/15 00:27 -
