The cage you posted will be fine for the short term, Hes safety is the main concern .I have never had any problems with the thickness of bars.The one Mrspock recommended shouldnt have any issue with bars.

Perhaps have a second bowl for fresh drinking water. one of my greys dunks most of her food in her water bowl, thats the way she prefers to eat it, a pain i know but please dont stop the way your grey enjoys to eat.
